I'm convinced that it's not just Chris Cohan that has cursed the Warriors playoff chances, but it's this god-awful "modern" logo thing we got going. Additionally, I think we need to replace Thunder with some completely not-related-to-the-weather mascot like a big fluffy Grizzly Bear...that would kick ass! Look, I'm not asking for much. Thunder freaks me out. He looks like he's wearing the Gimp outfit from Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas with that spandex thing. It's quite GARY with a silent "R." The navy blue, gold, and orange with thunder bolt isn't working. They need to permanently bring back "The City" uniforms. Who's with me?
I've never had as much of a problem with the current uniforms as a lot of other people, and I seem to be in the minority in thinking they're a great improvement over their previous uniforms...but as you can see, I am a fan of "the city" look.
For some reason, it just doesn't work for me. The whole thunder bolt theme doesn't seem to fit with "Warrior." I say go retro.
I'm so used to the logo that I don't mind it. But we should change it to reflect the team's defense in recent years.

Personally I was in German when they unveiled this new logo. The old one was geeting old and there were a few teams with new logos coming out. It is still current. I do not care for Thunder. I think it is gay, he I dont ever watch home games anyways. I always like Rocky from the Denver nuggets games and I am looking forward to the Mavs games I will be seeing down here...
I certainly prefer gold and blue over orange and blue. There's a trend to move away from the more blinding colors, but everything doesn't need to look the same, either. I think that the W's could certainly try to look for new icon submissions. I don't know about the cost of switching all the floor board art or jersery art, though. I'd think all the better ticket sales and hopefully better jersey sales could finance though? So, anyone have any ideas of what they want to see? I guess a few people want the old logo back, or maybe even the city back. What do you think of when you think of a "Warrior" anyway?

It's also going to make sense if you understand some Greek or Norse mythology like Zeus, whose weapon was lightning bolts, and Thor, whose weapon was a hammer that flung lightning bolts. It's a standard issue godly weapon because if you look at other societies in every region of the world where polytheism once existed, there was always a god of thunder who dropped lightning bolts on people's asses for doing something wrong. I guess it's because if you happened to be struck by lightning back then, there was no scientific explanation to explain its rare occurence so it must be that the gods had been angered somehow. Nobody can really do the warrior theme without painting a picture of war or violence or do it without painting a picture of a person associated with war or violence. If we made a logo featuring a weapon or an implement that a warrior uses, it's violent. If we do a logo based on a peoples known for being a warrior class society then it's not general enough to be the Warriors. And without things that suggest violence, the logo would be just some dude on it. Don't get me wrong I am all for having a weapon on the logo like the Braves have the tomahawk and the Cavaliers have the saber, but how would we be different and how would we avoid some people getting turned off by something that is too suggestive or how do we making something that is very general and isn't linked to any particular society/civilization? Don't get me wrong I'd love to have a logo that suggested as much violence as possible. I've always been a fan of the raiders logo where the dude with the eyepatch looks like he's got two swords stuck in him. The Buccs have a nice logo too with the pirate flag.
I am so down with a change in the logo, uniforms, floor paint, mascot, and hey, how about getting some money and naming The Arena in Oakland. Judging from the past few years, it seems that everyone outside of us, the diehard fan base, has not felt the need to touch the Warriors with a ten-foot pole. However, with 7 or so nationally televised games, it seems that the W's have changed their product on the floor to attract attention. The inevitable move next year would be to do an image overhaul. Which would probably involved changing the logo and probably tweaking the uni's. The current uni's aren't that bad, and its odd that the alternate jersey's (the golden gate orange ones) were popular. I was sad to read on the Warriors site that "The City" jersey's will not be used this year.
Speaking of Thor (from the above post) I got a joke for you guys: But apparently it's a little dirty so I'm going to move it to the Warriors Private Forum.
I'm not too keen on the comic book "Warrior part of the logo. I like the colors, the text. Political correctness is limiting. a Zulu,Apache or Cheyenne Warrior would offend someone. Maybe a Scot Highlander with a big old axe? Scares the kids. Something Old School,Greek,Roman? or real mod like a Navy Seal or something out of Starwars? Could go with a couple of crossed spears and a sheild with the City logo on the Sheild, plus something in Latin that says " the other town on the bay" thus appeasing much of the market. Better still, get some Silicon Valley reference in there as well. Rather than hassle over the political corrections of "Warrior" and what images that carries-lets just start over. NEW NAME....The Bay Area Hippies!. Then we go with a stripe of Tye Dye and an image of Jerry Garcia. Heck, there are a dozen good images we might use. It could be a celebration of the area's rich cultural heritage and we would NEVER need to hear the PA play some poofy Queen song at halftime. Better a side of After Bathing At Baxters,or Dark Star.
They could always steal from the Gladiator and instead of the weird spartan armor, use some weird roman caricatured armor and use a big catapult to launch basketballs as weapons. Or maybe not.
