<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Mohammed to test market: This might be the first of a season-long series of stories. San Antonio backup center Nazr Mohammed, a Chicago native, will be a free agent next summer and the Bulls obviously need more big men. Asked about the possibility of returning home, Mohammed pointed out that first he wants to win another championship with the Spurs. San Antonio does have Tim Duncan, Rasho Nesterovic and Fabricio Obertro already under contract, so their desire to keep Mohammed remains to be seen. ?First and foremost, I want to stay here in San Antonio,? Mohammed said. ?At the same time, I want to go out there and see what?s my market value and take it from there.? The 6-foot-10 Mohammed, 28, probably is best suited to being a backup player. He has averaged 7.3 points and 5.7 rebounds for four different teams. ?It wouldn?t be hard at all (to play in Chicago),? he said. ?It?s home. It would have been hard to come here and play fresh in the league, not knowing what the league?s about. This is my eighth season. I?m pretty much stable in my life and things like that. So I can handle playing anywhere.?</div> <div align="center">Source</div>
Nazr is a good backup center and a good starting center. He would be a good fit for any team in need for a Center. Chicago are going 2 go after alot of C's in the offseason and Nazr might be one of the top ones.
The Bulls have two first rounders in the next draft. One of them will most likely be a lottery pick so why go after a center in free agency who will most likely have to be overpaid(big men are expensive these days)when you can just draft the best available big man in the draft? It would be much cheaper and he'll be able to grow and develop alongside the young players the Bulls have. Anyway I think Isiah Thomas should be fired.

The core of our team is coming to his own, and i would prefer a proven inside scorer with experience. That would really complete our squad i think...

Yea, he is expensive but he's also a veteran and the last thing the Bulls need is more young players. Ben Wallace would fit nicely with the baby bulls and who would be coming out of the draft that can make a right away impact?
For some reason the media seems to think that they Bulls need help, and they don't. I just posted in a thread about "Peja to Chicago". Just be thankful that such a young team is playing as well as they are.

He also can't play offense and is getting old, Nazr would be a cheaper and a better fit IMO since he iss better on offense and can start or backup <div class="quote_poster">Quoting Tribute to H2O:</div><div class="quote_post"> The Bulls have two first rounders in the next draft. Personally I wouldn't mind signing Nazr (or another FA Center) and drafting the bets possible Center w/ our top pick.
[quote name='Noir']Now is not the time anymore to draft young guys with potential (unless they really strike gold and can draft a potential superstar like Greg Oden or something...). QUOTE] oden won't be in this years draft because of the age limit, but I get what you're saying that you would need a clear cut dominant center if you were going to only focus on the draft.

Ben still averages 10/11 every night and is a monster down low. Theres alot more pros than cons in getting Ben. The Bulls would get a great rebounder, blocker, good scorer, and a guy who gives it 110% every night. Ben would affect the bulls better than Nazr would.
Ben would also eat up cap space and make signing back Gordon, Deng, Hinrich, and maybe Sweetney a whole lot harder. So to me, that con could outweigh any positive he may have.

Ben Wallace has said several times he wants to remain in Detroit. Joe Dumars has said he wants Ben back, they are just working out the numbers. I'm sure the Bulls will target him, since they have $20Million to spend next summer. However, the Pistons have managed their cap space to prepare for paying Big Ben.. The Pistons have been prudently preparing for Wallace's eventual free agency the past few years. They should be in a position to reward him with the most lucrative contract offer in Pistons history.
