<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Sprewell likes Hawks: Latrell Sprewell's agent said his client would love to fill the Hawks' need for more veteran leadership. And since Sprewell is currently out of the league, having turned down a three year, $20 million extension in Minnesota last summer, he's available. "Latrell is very much interested and has indicated a number of times his desire to play for the Hawks," said Sprewell's Atlanta-based agent Bob Gist. "He likes the fact the [Hawks'] owners, GM and certainly the coach are committed to amassing a winning team. He thinks he could make a major contribution to the team and he loves the city." Hawks general manager Billy Knight said he has had conversations with Gist, the last ending with this succinct explanation as to why the Hawks have no interest in his client. "We're loaded with players at the wing positions," Knight said Tuesday. "And we really have no interest in Latrell Sprewell joining our team."</div>

    God no.

The absolute last thing the two Josh's and Mr. Williams need is that cancer on the team.

By all means bring in a veteran or two, but not guys like Sprewell.

I'll be pissed if the Hawks end up signing him just to make the logjam even bigger at the 2/3 spot. Marvin is up and coming, and he's gonna need his playing time, maybe this season he'll be willing to ride the pine but knowing how great of a guy he was he wouldnt mind playing behind Spree as well. Marvin is going to be amazing and nothing should cut into his playing time.

    DONT SIGN SPREE.

Im not a big fan of Spree and I really don't think they should sign him. Funny how, he all of a sudden likes the Hawks. He probably expects a big contract from them.

I like the part where it says that Spree likes how they are committed to "amassing a winning team".

Does the man honestly think that they have the potential to be better than the Wolves? Probably not. But he knows that they have more money to help him feed the fam.

Most vets are content with their financial status, and want to go to a contender. Spree is just a classless glutton.

Bringing Spree to Atlanta wouldnt make sense at all...first off, if Spree wasnt happy on a talented team such as Minny, how would he act on a losing team like the Hawks? also, Atlanta is loaded at the swingman spot, and it would be idiotic to take away a younger player's minutes and give them to Spree...he's not somebody who is going to make this franchise a winner, so why bother?...

Spree's not a franchise player like you said J_Ray, he's not going to single handedly win the Hawks games. They need time to mesh as a team and once that starts happening they can work from there and acquire/work to whatever positions they need to fill.

I said he's a franchise player! Where's that, cuz I missed that. I was just saying they should sign him, he's a player that will make this team want to win, or else they'll have to listen to him [IMG]

I dont think Spree is suitable for the hawks, they will be looking for a saviour as they stink at the moment and Spree is 12 points in 20 minutes tops. He is not able to be a threat the whole 4 quarters anymore.
