Are we talking about first step, with the ball, leading the break.....etc? Kidd and Nash are the quickest fast break pgs (it helps that they have people running with them). Iverson and Claxton are quickest with the ball. Wade is pretty quick as well, but more because of his explosiveness than his handle. Boykins is just quick overall.
Didn't Nash own the rest of the competition in the timed ball handling thing at the all-star game? edit to add: including boykins

Which also required players to pass through hoops and shoot, something that slowed a lot of them down.
Iverson's gotta be the fastest with or without the ball. Ever seen his high school football highlights?
This is a very bias thread. Phoenix fans will say Nash, Spurs fans say Parker, and somebody even said Gilbert Arenas . TJ Ford is the fastest with the ball. AI, Boykins, and maybe Telfair are also fast as hell. Other than that, this isn't much of a debate.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting TheChosenOne23:</div><div class="quote_post">well from what i've seen as of late, TJ Ford has some quicks, but in all honesty, I do believe Lebron James is pretty fast himself. its not the fact of his speed, its the fact that his strides are so long, and he can handle the ball just as good as anybody in the league, i'd take lebron in a foot race. also keep in mind that in high school for St Vincent St Marys, lebron was a wide out and ran a clock 40 of 4.29</div> He never ran a 4.29. Period.
My top five would have to be; Allen Iverson, Earl Boykins, T.J. Ford, Steve Francis, and Chucky Atkins.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Iverson's gotta be the fastest wth or without the ball. The point is.....that was 13 years ago. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">also keep in mind that in high school for St Vincent St Marys, lebron was a wide out and ran a clock 40 of 4.29</div>
A.I period. With or without the ball, off the first step or just plain explosive, Iverson is the quickest, fastest most explosive player. Considering he has been taking bumps and bruises and everything for ten years, to still be so damn quick is phenomenal. TJ Ford is very close this season and he really is lightning too, but Iverson is still number 1
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting NbaBaller:</div><div class="quote_post">Also Rafer Alston runs really fast with the ball.</div> Yeah I just noticed that in yesterdays game. Everytime he got the ball vroom! Tony Parker does have some noticable speed too. I don't get to see TJ play but I'll take ppls word for it. And doesn't AI still have a 99 rating on his speed in Live? He's the only player I've seen with a perfect rating for speed and quickness.

Fastest in league? i say Gilbert Arenas, Earl Boykins, T.J. Ford
It's between: TJ Ford, Rafer, Arenas, Iverson, Claxton, and Parker Kidd isn't as fast as he was before, and end to end wise, Nash isn't that fast, he just has a great handle. I think Rafer is one guy that doesn't loose a stride while dribbling, the ball is connected to his hand on a string basically. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">and somebody even said Gilbert Arenas</div> Watch Arenas play, pure speed wise he's one of the fastest guys in the NBA. With the ball, he's also one of the fastest guys in the NBA.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Char:</div><div class="quote_post">Iverson's gotta be the fastest with or without the ball. Ever seen his high school football highlights?</div> Ummm....yeah, Iverson is now 30, he played high school football when he was 17. What he did 12-14 years ago mean nothing.
