With Terell owens suspended from the NFL indefinately, this got me thinking about an article i read awhile ago about T.O possibly trying out for the Sac. Kings. He played basketball in college and considered entering the nba, even during his nfl career. so i wonder if TO is considering trying to enter the nba, is so do you think any team should actually sign him?
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting STCBBall3:</div><div class="quote_post">No. He's not good enough.</div> what proof do you have for that? so many nba players could easily transition to the nfl and a bit less the other way around. Alot of players of both those sports played both of them in college. donovan mcnabb was a pretty good college ball player.
Hahaha. I would love for the Heat to sign him. Then, ABC or any big Broadcasting corporation should have 15 cameras in the Heat lockerroom, 25 in their practice facility/wieghtroom, and two cameras in each of the houses of Walker, T.O., Jason Williams, Wade, Shaq, Payton, Stan Van Gundy and Pat Riley. Along with sound recorder secretly attached to the phones of all these guys. This would be the best reality show ever!
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Johnnybrasco:</div><div class="quote_post"> what proof do you have for that? </div> I've seen him play a little bit. He only started 5 games in his college career at Tenn.-Chatt. He played in a summer league in 2002 for the Adirondack Wildcats, and didn't do extremely well. I've heard scouts say he isn't good enough to play in the NBA. Is that proof enough? <div class="quote_poster">Quoting Johnnybrasco:</div><div class="quote_post"> so many nba players could easily transition to the nfl and a bit less the other way around. I hope you're joking with that statement. McNabb played in 13 games, and averaged 8 minutes a game that '96 season. And not alot of them play in college, and if they do play in college, rarely do they really contribute heavily in both sports. Edited, don't double post

I've seen Terrell Owens play in a charity game, (insert joke), and he wasn't that bad. I mean he would kind of remind me of a Shawn Marion type of player, (a poor mans Shawn Marion) with a better "looking" jumper. But I would hate to see him in the NBA because they'd make a channel for his selfish behind, T.O.T.V. and Mark Cuban would run it.

It's too late for TO now. He's 31 years old, and far removed from organized basketball. If AI, LeBron, Charlie wanted to play FB from the start, I'm sure they could. But AI couldn't walk into an NFL training camp and dominate.
Yeah I remember TO speak alot about a career in basketball and what not, but you never know. MJ hopped from the Bulls to the Sox didn`t he?
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting The Soft Parade:</div><div class="quote_post">Yeah I remember TO speak alot about a career in basketball and what not, but you never know. MJ hopped from the Bulls to the Sox didn`t he?</div> MJ went into minor league baseball, and was unsuccessful.
I've played with T.O. a couple of times and there's no chance he can play in the NBA. He's very strong and athletic, but his jump shot is suspect, he has no left, and his dribbling is erratic. At 6-3, he'd be forced to play guard in the NBA, and he simply doesn't have the skillset to pull it off.

I think theres a better chance of him being a mascot then an NBA player. :/ Although I would love to see him in a NBA uniform!
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting amador08:</div><div class="quote_post">I think theres a better chance of him being a mascot then an NBA player. :/ Although I would love to see him in a NBA uniform!</div> It would be cool until people realize he can't play at the Nba level.
A couple reasons why TO coming to the NBA would be nearly impossible: -IIRC, he was ivited to the Kings summer league, maybe he was a training camp invitee but even if he was, how many invitees make the teams. - He doesnt have an NBA body, 6'2 and just pure muscle, generally you dont see guys like that in the NBA. With his build he should be a PF but he isnt nearly big enough. I doubt he has PG skills and doubt even more that he would be able to play SG. - The guy is 32 years old (well, he will be in December) and all he wants is money. He is going to get the minimum in the NBA and barely play at all. In the NFL he will get big 1 year deals. Which do you think he'll choose? He really has nothing going for him; he isnt young, he isnt liked at all by nearly anyone in the country, he just doesnt have the skills, and there would be little reason for him to even try it out.
How about we just don't let them sully the good NBA name and brand image with his worthless and annoying behind?
