The problem is the Clippers look like a quality team this year, so they arent going to give up Wilcox...they will need depth at the 4 spot, when they are trying to make their playoff push in the 2nd half of the season. Only way the Clippers trade Wilcox is if they are out of the race at the febuary trade deadline...I dont see them trading him before then...also the Nets have nothing of equal or similar value of Wilcox..and deal that involves Jefferson or Carter would be way to much for him. And any deal that involves Zoran Planinic or something along that line would be too little. So IAm not for sure what type of deal the two teams would work out.
I don't think the Clippers aren't gonna trade Wilcox either, because I think it's how well he plays that will determine if they make the playoffs or not.
This would be great for the Nets to get somebody great in the post but I can't see anything that can happen between the two teams. Maybe if the Nets can get a third team involved they can get the deal done.
Right now, the Clippers have had an easy schedule to start the year, which is why I think they're off to such a good start. The only team that they've beaten that most people think will make the playoffs is Washington. Otherwise, they beat Seattle, who is either underachieving this year or severely overachieved last year, and Minnesota, a team who hasn't been able to stick a road win for their life. Beyond that, they burned the Clipps the second time they played them this year. Right now, I think this Clippers team is overachieving, and once they start facing some good teams, they'll be brought back down to reality. And with Wilcox, I highly doubt he determines whether or not they make a run. He's barely averaging 5/4 and doesn't even play 20 minutes a night. Since he came in to the league, he's proven that he's nothing more then an enigma so far, showing signs at one point, and then completely falling off the radar for later. He did that last year, and so far, he hasn't even been good enough to do it again this year. So, while he may be worth the Nets time, I really believe the Clippers could do without him.
Would love to see Wilcox playing with Nenad. Would give the Nets a much better look and more chance of actually winning a series come playoffs.
This trade makes even less sense that the rumors about the KG trade, I mean, Chris Wilcox? There are other good free agents in the pool
