Keys To The Game:

<font face=""Comic Sans MS"">- Rebounding: After yet again getting outrebounded 57-40 by the Cavs Monday night, this key continues to appear in every game thread, and the Jazz are not an easy task either. With a big front court consisted of Okur, AK47 and Ostertage, I'd be highly surprised if our frontcourt outrebounds theirs, therefore everyone, and I mean everyone must crash the boards or this is going to be ugly.

<font face=""Comic Sans MS"">- Bench Play: With the likelyhood of shortening the bench is very high, Mo, Jose and Charlie have to be efficient and effective in the same time. The offence will take care of itself, but defensively, they all must bring in the effort off the bench, because Sloan's reserves, although they may not be big names, they're efficient and give 110%, and if we don't match their intinsity, we're in for a long night.

<font face=""Comic Sans MS"">- Don't Sleep On The Jazz: Everyone has been saying for a week now that the Jazz should be our first game, and it's the first non-playoff team we play .. etc! Am I missing something? Last time I checked, this team is dominant at every thing we're weak at, and the talent level between the two teams is very recognizable, so the players better not be coming out sluggish or this streak will be one more game long.

.......

Game Matchup:

[IMG] vs [IMG]
Andrei Kirilenko vs Charlie Villanueva

Although he is coming off the bench, expect to see the CV31-AK47 matchup quite often on Friday night. They are similarly built, however, Kirilenko is more athletic and is a much better defender than Villanueva. On offence, Charlie has to be agressive but smart in the same time. He has to move off the ball and let the offence come to him, otherwise, Kirilenko will lock him up all night long. Defensively, he has to be aware at all times. With Andrei's versitility,
he can step out and strike the J or get his way to the pain and finish strong. CV has to match his quickness-which is easier said than done-and try to contain him as much as possible. But we should not double team him under any circumenstance, considering the kind of a passer Kirilenko is.

.......

The X-Factor:

Aaron Williams

With Araujo and Woods being a foregon conclusion at this point, the Raptors' hope at the Centre position rely haviley on Aaron Williams. With two dislocated fingers, Aaron is expected to start on Friday night and if he gives any productive minutes, you can easily say he has won the race against Araujo and Woods. Defensively, he MUST rebound and keep the Jazz off the glass. He may not have the height advantage, but he's strong and athletic enough to body Ostertag/Collins out and grab most of the rebounds on the defensive end. Offensively, he's option #5 at all times. Just let the game come to him and get most of points off the offensive glass. If he does these things, we can win this game.

.......

Say What?! (Prediction)

Unlike the last 3 games, I predict a very close game. With solid contributions from about everyone, I expect the Raps to get their first W of the season. Raps win 101-99.

There needs to be a change in the lineup.

PG - Calderon/James
SG - Graham/Peterson
SF - Villanueva/Rose
PF - Bosh/Bonner
C - Williams/Woods

That lineup would work better IMO.

Its over
Raps drop another one
99-84

Raps:
Bosh--19 points, 10 rebounds, 1 block
Jose--12 points, 4 assists
CV31- 8 Points, 2 blocks
Bonner-- 15 points, 8 rebounds

thats basically all the people who did OKAY
i thought Bonner played well..and jose was just amazing along with Bosh
i didnt like Rose's play however
CV31 was good..but yes i agree that Jose and CV need to start
Rose forces too many shots..i think sam needs to teach these kind of players a lesson by benching them

Toronto needs to get a GM that actually KNOWS basketball before it's too late, as if the team is not bad enough

Heck, hire some of the JBB guys, i believe they are much better

I don't understand why Mitchell isn't getting more active coaching during the game... ya we have rookies and they will make mistakes but it doesn't mean you sit down for 48 minutes and neglect to do anything ....pathetic

It's the same situation every year for the Raptors. I've been watching this team and going to their games since the beginning of this franchise till last season!

There's nothing but disapointment! Vince Carter and Tracy McGrady were the only plus I can think of! From The GM, The Coach, to the Players! I hear the same excuses every single year, "The team will surprise everyone and make the playoffs this year..." which ends up as "We will have good lottery picks..."!? Excuses after excuses, year after year, doesn't this seem a little repetitve to you guys!

All the Hype of Chris Bosh becoming an all-star and franchise player is really looking bad right now. He's so inconsistent and not much of a leader. If it wasn't for the free throws, his numbers would look mediocre. And Joey Graham and Charlie Villenueva look average at best!

If any of you watched the game, and I mean the whole game, Mitchell looks lost and frustrated every time the camera's pointing at him. I'm starting to wonder if Mitchell knows how to coach.

Some one on this team needs to take the heat for the disappoinments, either Babcock or Mitchell. Fans are pissed off at the lack of success, players morale are down. If they don't do something drastic and improve or at least get their first win soon, I can see lots of fans giving up on this Raptor team.

REMEMBER fans pays alot of money to go to see them lose year after year! They deserve to see some results soon! This team's been nothing but Havoc and turmoil and now they JUST SUCK!

Ok ... at this point i think you need to remember that so far 5 games have been played. Bosh had an amazing 2nd half of the season last year, why all the criticism now after such little time? Discounting free-throws from his numbers is complete bs - i would take a player who goes to the line any day over someone who doesn't draw fouls. Going to the line is always a positive ? look at the leaders for the NBA in terms of trips to the line ?. all great players.

So we'll just fire Mitchell and Babcock and hire some people who are equally unqualified for the job? Who honestly wants to take over the raptors right now? No one is going to want to come into this situation, especially if we fire their predecessor after 1 year on the job. If we at least wait until the end of the season then we can give the new GM/coach more flexibility and that will allow us to get someone better for the job.

a13x - no one is discounting Chris Bosh's made free throw from his game, all I am saying is his free throws made his stats look respectable, don't forget he played a total of 44 minutes tonight, the numbers he collected were far from All-star calibre nor looked like the franchise player.

And regarding your second para. about hiring someone equally unqualified for the job, are you nuts, you sound just like the Raptors Management team, just as incompetent (Excuses after Excuses). Fans pays hundreds and thousands of dollars to go to watch the games at ACC annually (Season Tickets) and all this team gave in return are disappointments after disappointments, who do you think keeps this Organization alive, FANS. Know your role and think about people that spend hundreds and thousands of dollars just to get riped off by this organization!

And don't give me this crap about giving them time to teach the rookies, get good draft picks or sign star quality player when we have the salary cap to do it. I've been and I am sure lots of fans or ex-fans can tell you we've been waiting for 10 YEARS and counting, everytime something good happens, this organization has a way of screwing us fans royally.

GET REAL!

I'm disappointed by the losing too but it takes times to rebuild. I'd rather the team rebuild and get the right foundation in, then having a situation like the Leafs where the managment brings in free agents and competes but never has a real chance of bringing a championship.

The only way to get better is through the draft and we'll have a really good draft pick this year. One good draft pick can easily turn around a mediocre team. Just look at LeBron and the Cavs, Wade and the Heat, and Melo and the Nuggets. Yes, they all brought in free agents too, but we will also have cap space in the next 2 years to bring in some players.

Panicking and trading some draft picks or some of our young talent for some wins will only help in the short term and will do nothing for the future.

I think your under the mistaken impression I actually like raptors management, which I don't. What I'm saying is wait until near the end of the season to make the changes if they are going to happen. Ya fans pay money for tickets and the fan base feels alienated but in the long run we are going to be worse off if we make changes right now because it limits our options...

Sam Mitchell's coaching is really getting on my nerves. I don't understand what he's thinking when he does the rotations. I love how the centers on the team always get blamed for stuff, yet yesterday, Araujo and Woods played 0 minutes, and Aaron Williams like 8 minutes. You can't be causing losses if you don't even get to play.

Also Jack annoys me [not from yesterday] when he always compares us playing small inside to Rasheed and Ben on the Pistons. Please, 2 strong very athletic guys that are both good defender being compared to one weak decently athletic guy who's not a good defender, and an average strength decent athletic guy who's a bad defender. Okay Jack, no wonder you aren't coaching anymore. How can you compare to one scenario out of 30 teams in the league. We can't compare to Phoenix because last year they were -2 on the glass, and this year are at like -10 on the glass.

Really though, Mitchell needs to know what he's doing with his rotations, it seems so random to me. Our defense is also attrocious, we don't really have defensive strategies. Like what are we doing on the pick and roll, are we fighting through, are we going under, are we switching? Who knows, we just do whatever we want and get confused, it's quite annoying.
