Why hasn't anyone signed this guy? I think he's still pretty good and could help out a team in need of a point guard, or be a role player.

Yea, I haven't heard of him in a while. My guess is that his injuries are still holding him back. I think the Lakers should give him a shot.

How would you know if he's "still pretty good"?

You don't know the effects the injury had on him or what his condition is right now.

He said he is putting his come back on hold, and rehabbing a bit more, because no team could offer him a guaranteed roster spot.

He looked good in workouts and he could come off the bench on the Lakers or some other team who needs a point guard. No one has even gave him a shot yet.

He said he thinks, and we all are entitled to our own opinion.

There were rumors this summer saying that he was going to sign with the Heat, but that is over. But I also think that a team should give him a shot.

Yes, we are entitled to our own opinions.

But saying "he's in good condition now" is pretty much blind optimism.

If Jay was healthy enough, he would be playing right now. Obviously, he's knows his situation a little bit better than you.

But yes, I can't to see if he can get back. Even as a UNC fan, I love his game.

    He didn't even say that??

And just if Jay is healthy that doeasn't mean he picks which team he is going to play for, obvisouly, both team and he have to decide on a contract, and like BKS said no team had a guaranteed spot for him.

I also want him to play again, I really liked him w/ Duke.

Yes, he basically did say that.

By saying, "I think he is still pretty good", is nearly the same as that means that he is healthy. Obviously, if he wasn't healthy, he couldn't be pretty good.

I'm guessing that the original poster does not know about his injury, because he isn't sure why anyone hasn't signed him.

I do know about the injury, and I never said that he was in good condition. I'm just asking why no one has given him a shot and thanks to Best Kept Secret, I know now.

Jay Williams was dominated in one on one workouts with a lot of this year's rookies. The last one I read about was Luther Head when the Rockets gave him a look. It also didn't help Jay's cause to say he only wanted to play for team's with an uptempo offense.

Exactly. Especially since most of those teams (Mavs, Suns, Spurs, Heat, etc) are already deep as far as the guard/combo guard position goes.

The Bulls were polite to him, but with Duhon, Hinrich, and Gordon they have absolutely no need for him anymore.

By you saying he's still pretty good you implied that he is in good condition. They go hand in hand.

    Nice try though.

I just said I "think he's still pretty good", that's just my opinion.

    Stop trying to defend it.

You made a post about how he is a good player still, without knowing his real condition.

I pointed out that you did not know what you were talking about.

    Like I said, nice try.
