<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">PHILADELPHIA - The more videotape Chris Mihm watches in the hope of figuring out why so many foul calls go against him, the less the Lakers center can understand about why he seems so singled out by the referees. "You show me what I'm doing differently than the guys I'm guarding, then you can tell me I'm foul prone," Mihm said. "Right now, I just don't see it.' The calls against Mihm have gone from questionable to inexplicable in coach Phil Jackson's eyes. But after watching Mihm pick up fouls in the opening minute of the Lakers' past two games, Jackson's options for what can be done are unclear. Jackson had been substituting forward Devean George for Mihm during the exhibition season as soon as the center was called for his first foul, once as early as 47 seconds into a game. But the past two games, Jackson has let Mihm play after picking up a foul in the early going. He hoped Mihm would catch a break in Tuesday's game against Atlanta after being called for a foul 35 seconds in when Zaza Pachulia leaned into him on a basket. That break, however, never came as Mihm was called for four fouls in the 12 minutes he played. This road trip is only two games old and Mihm already has been called for seven fouls in 33 minutes. Every whistle blown in his direction is sure to be scrutinized as the Lakers play the Philadelphia 76ers tonight. One option for Jackson might be to bring Mihm off the bench, but Jackson said he wasn't inclined to try that, with the Lakers racing out to an early lead and holding Minnesota to just 14 points in the first quarter Wednesday with Mihm on the court. Mihm, however, has said the referees seem to give him more freedom to play later in games and Jackson is on the record as saying he believes Mihm sometimes can find more opportunities playing with the second team. If the Lakers were to make such a move, forward Kwame Brown would have move to center and forward Lamar Odom would fill Brown's spot, although he still could initiate the offense. Jackson also would lose the ability to bring George off the bench. </div> Source
I would hate that. I don't want Odom on the 4th spot and Kwame on the 5th, it would make our lineup much smaller.
I think we should give him about 10 games to improve. If he still has trouble, I would seriously consider throwing Andrew Bynum in as a starter. Mihm has proven he can average 12/8 a game while playing fairly ok in defense. If he can't execute during these 10 games, stick Bynum in the equation. We have no other solution apart from trading or moving Kwame to C and Lamar to PF. Something, which I am totally against.
