<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Raptors forward Pape Sow is ready to make like the cavalry and ride in to save the day.

The problem is, there aren't many horses that can carry somebody who is 6-foot-11 and 250 pounds.

Sow, who missed the most of the pre-season because of a groin injury, announced yesterday that he is healthy and has practised with the team all week.

He wants to play and the club's general manager, Rob Babcock, would like him to play.

The only problem is, head coach Sam Mitchell has not said whether he is prepared to give any minutes to the second-year NBAer, whom the Raptors value as a future frontcourt standout with his rebounding ability, toughness and athleticism. </div>

First off, it's Pape Sow. Secondly, he's 6'8 - 6'8 1/2 at best. Thirldy and more importantly, he's still on the Inactive List ):

I hope Sow get's minutes, he's got potential. And like someone said eh's better than Hoffa and Woods even with his size, he's huge for a 6'8" guy muscularly.

I don't think Sow is the solution. Am I the only one who doesn't see anything there?

Sure he hustles on defense but he's so raw on offense that I don't see him helping the team on that side of things for a long time to come.

I rather have him playing than Hoffa. Hoffa screws everything up. Pape might not be the best on offense, but he's not a liability like Hoffa on defense, who you know is going to pick up 2 fouls in the first 2 minutes he plays.

I'm pretty sure Pape is 6'10. He was listed at 6'10 in the Chicago draft camp stuff, he measured 6'8.5" without shoes, and 6'10 with shoes, so he's at least 6'9.5" anyways. He's as much 6'10 as any other 6'10 guy, or as any 6'11 guy is 7'0 tall.

Pape might now have offense, but at least he knows how to rotate defensively, and is our only young guy that really knows how to play defense well.
