<div class="quote_poster">Quoting PlaTsanity:</div><div class="quote_post">Hoopshype has just stated that the Orlando Magics are looking at trading Francis</div> This is breaking news! Seriously though, this is like the billionth report about the Magic shopping Steve Francis. The rumor isn't even that specific. All it says is that we are shopping Francis but we aren't interested in Stephon Marbury. Francis and Marbury are similar players. Each are solid contributors to their respective teams and each like to score. Swapping the two point guards wouldn't be great from the Magic point of view. Francis is equal in talent to Marbury (if not better) but Stephon comes with a lot of baggage. It wouldn't be worth it in my opinion. Here is the rumor from Hoopshype: <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">"Are the Magic open to dealing Steve Francis? Sources say yes, but not for Marbury, I submit; surely Orlando's sights are higher."</div> http://www.nypost.com/sports/knicks/31154.htm All offseason rumors were flying around about Francis being on the block but our general managers quickly shot those rumors down. Then again, our GM's also denied being interested in Keyon Dooling just one day before he signed with us. Who knows what our general managers are thinking at this point but I'm just hoping they don't do something stupid. Francis is our best player right now and trading him away just because we can would basically kiss our playoff chances goodbye.

francis for jalen rose and mike james and raps pick up most of roses remaining contract, that would a be a great trade in my opinion, we get to players that can play positions 1-3 and also leaves room for nelson to start and dooling to make a big impact, rose isnt over the hill i think hes still got some stuff in him, but he can still shoot
The magic messed up when they traded Cuttino...but hoopshype is always full of BS, so I wouldn't get too excited over this.

The Grizzlies drafted him originally and he forced them to trade him. You can automatically rule out the Raptors. I wouldn't put much stock in this trade either. The Magic have won two straight games, Keyon Dooling is back from injury, and if they get Grant Hill back they should make the playoffs. The team has had one of the toughest schedules so far this season and the slow start by Dwight Howard didn't help. Francis is playing great so far, I don't see any legit reason why the Magic would be shopping him.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Iguodala:</div><div class="quote_post">They messed up when they traded T-mac</div> No we didn't. Tmac would have left for nothing, very similar to the whole Shaq situation. We had to get something for it and this was our best offer. I would much rather have Francis than no one.
