People are excited because he has a huge upside.

If you've noticed the pattern, many of the straight from HS players don't get a ton of PT during the beginning of their careers (except the top guys like KB, KG, Amare).

Yeah, really. It's the first week of the season, and you are already questioning him? You're already saying "he's gone"?

He'll probably be playing in the NBDL when that starts up, and then called up late in the season. Still, he'll probably only play in garbage time.

They call them "projects" for a reason.

I don't think he'll even get garbage minutes, I think tonight was good proof of that. Barring injury of course. At least he has to dress with every game now that they've done away with the Inactive List.

Like the other guys said, he's just not ready for it. Anytime a kid comes out of high school, you can't expect them to step right in and become a factor. There is still so much he has to learn and improve on, defense being the main thing.

Amen, the dude looked like a signpost in the preseason. If he can learn a little about rotations and when to double, and some footwork, he'll be intense, but let's not rush things.

    He's a baby.

Expecting him to come right in and get a stack of PT is foolish.

yeah, well, I think even just a tiny bit of playing time might help, let him get the feel and experience, on the other hand, i dont mean go nuts or anything, doc maybe should just play him on Darko minutes (under Larry Brown), what would have been the harm in bringing him in the San Antonio game with like, 2 minutes to go? It could only be good for him, to see for himself where he is at, and what he needs to do in order to be a good player...eh, jus a thought anyway...

i think you should go a head and give him playing time wherever on the court you guyz ain't gonna be no contenders and the only way you guyz gonna be contenders again is if you guyz play those young guyz and develop them

Stop making sense. We all know Doc Rivers is a horrible coach, and he'll continue to waste playing time on worthless vets like Raef and Blount.

Apparently, he doesn't like to develop talent. Something you can get away with when you have loads of talented veterans, but we only have two of those.

I say play the kids from now until seasons end.

Well Doc Rivers kind of helped develop tracy mcgrady's outside game after he established that he could dunk in toronto he helped him with his one on one game also but that was when they had no good vets on that team. U'd think he play gerald green becuz its a similar project both play like each other 6'8" 44inches vert and both have similar games u'd think doc would love that and develop him

The difference there is that Orlando fans and media aren't ruthless like Boston. Doc is scared to play the young guys because he's afraid of being fired. Problem is that this is the first time the fans and media want them to sacrifice a few games so they can see guys develop.

G Money can develop faster playing against Paul Pierce and Ricky Davis in practice and being coached by Celtic coaches than he can in the NBDL...look at Kendrick Perkins development. One.

It's fine to say play the kids, but it's dangerous playing someone as raw as Green.

You throw a kid like him to the wolves and you could kill any confidence he has.

That could happen, but what i suggested is more likely with high-schoolers as raw as Green.

I just don't see why people always want to rush these kids. Give them time, and have a bit of faith in your organisation to do the right thing by him.
