    Dallas Game Thread

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The Dallas Mavericks will try to beat the New Orleans Hornets for the 14th straight time when they complete a three-game road swing in Oklahoma City, Okla.

The Mavericks have not lost to the Hornets since a 104-99 defeat at Charlotte on Nov. 17, 1999. Dallas was dominant in sweeping four games from New Orleans a season ago, outscoring the Hornets by an average of 11 points per game.

Dallas star Dirk Nowitzki averaged 23 points and 7.8 rebounds in the four meetings. The Mavericks limited the Hornets to 41.5 percent shooting in those games and New Orleans never scored more than 91 points.

Nowitzki shook off back problems for 23 points and 16 rebounds in Dallas' 98-88 victory at Charlotte on Friday. He was listed as a game-time decision for the Mavericks because of a lower back strain that sidelined him for the second half of Wednesday's loss at Philadelphia.

"The back felt a lot better than I thought it would," he said.

Nowitzki had 13 points and 10 rebounds by halftime and logged 40 minutes to help Dallas bounce back. Reserve Devin Harris added 21 points for the Mavericks, who led by as many as 21 points.

"We didn't want him to play 40, but he felt pretty good and he looked OK," Dallas coach Avery Johnson said.

New Orleans has alternated wins and losses through its first four games, falling 88-83 to Orlando on Wednesday. Speedy Claxton scored 24 points for the Hornets, who suffered their first loss in Oklahoma City, their alternate home due to the damage left by Hurricane Katrina.

PROBABLE STARTERS: Mavericks - F Josh Howard, F Nowitzki, C Erick Dampier, G Doug Christie, G Jason Terry. Hornets - F Bostjan Nachbar, F David West, C Brown, G Chris Paul, G Smith.

TEAM LEADERS: Mavericks - Nowitzki, 23 ppg and 9.4 rpg; Terry, 4.2 apg. Hornets - Claxton, 17.8 ppg and 5 apg; Brown, 9.3 rpg.

    2004-05 SEASON SERIES: Mavericks, 4-0.

LAST MEETING: March 21; Mavericks, 103-86. At Dallas, Nowitzki had 25 points and eight rebounds and Harris added 17 points as Dallas improved to 2-0 since Johnson took over permanently as coach for Don Nelson. Smith scored 27 points to lead the Hornets.

    ROAD/HOME RECORDS: Mavericks - 2-2 on the road; Hornets - 1-1 at home.</div>

Chris Paul is the truth we are witnessing the future right now Paul has 22 points and is shooting 75% from the field. He has been having a really good game he does have give turnovers, but that is expected from a rookie. It’s just my luck that Paul choose this week to have a break out game it is killing me in fantasy. I am still glad to see him having such a great game. The 2005-06 rookie of the year Chris Paul...

CP3 did not as good as my whole school said he would since before the Hornets vs Nuggets came, Edmond Memoral faced Douglass and it was all hype on him.
