<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Morris Peterson, who lost his starting job to rookie Joey Graham and who has seen his playing time dwindle in five games, said something has to be changed in the way he's being used.

The frustrated Peterson stopped just short of issuing a trade ultimatum after the Raptors dropped their fifth straight game to start the season, losing 99-84 to the Utah Jazz before a season-low crowd of 15,617 at the Air Canada Centre last night.

"We need something to change, whether it's me or them, I don't know," Peterson said after he played just 20 minutes in last night's loss, missing all five shots he took.

"They want me to sacrifice and not start to help the team but we're not getting any results and at the end of the day, that's affecting me."

Peterson, who started the final 61 games of last season after Vince Carter was dealt away, lost his job to Graham at the start of this year because coach Sam Mitchell wanted the rookie's defence in the first unit and wanted Peterson to anchor a second team that included rookies Jose Calderon and Charlie Villanueva.

However, Graham has struggled as a starter, the Raptors are struggling as a team and Peterson is white hot about his role. The season-low minutes he played last night included sitting and watching the final nine minutes when the Raptors were trying to make some sort of run to get back in the game.

"I'm like the 10th man, you know," he said. "I can come off the bench and play for a contending team, too."</div>

You know what, he's right. Mo can come off the bench for a contending team, so if he's doing the same in Toronto, why not go somewhere else?

Graham hasn't been impressing so far and Mo Pete being the best player so far this season has instead seen his minutes decreasing? If Mitchell says he wants to make some changes, why not put the best five players on the court to begin the game?

Mo Pete can be a great player they just don't use him the right way and it's really wasting his talent.

Did they really had to do this when I just traded for him in my fantasy league? Anyways, Peterson is right on this one, he's a great player and can be starting material for a lot of teams as well as a great sixth man. So if he's going to be benched in favor of a rookie's development, it just doesn't make sense for him to stay here and play twenty minutes coming off the bench.

People please, don't speak out of your butts without giving logical explanations to your theory. While I agree he has been impressive this season, if you had to describe Mo with a word, it'd be "Inconsistency". Doesn't matter who starts or not, it's who plays the most minutes and is there at the end. You just can't start your best 5 players have rookies and scrubs coming off in your second unit, that's just stupid player management.

I would start MoPete. Graham has struggled on offense so far and we're getting outscored in the first quarter in every game. Mo is a pretty good defensive player himself so that shouldn't be much of a problem.

The only thing that's probably keeping him from starting is that we need his offensive on the second unit.

Ok - I wouldn't really be against Mo Pete starting at this point. He has been one of the few players on the raptors who is actually playing well this season. I also think he makes excellent trade bait [IMG]

Lets not go too overboard though ... I think some of the above posts about Mo Petes potential etc... slightly on the optimistic side.

The way I see it, there could never be too many Mo's in Philly. [IMG]

The only players that probably want to be a Raptor right now are Alvin Williams, CV and Calderon.

Why do these players always bitch and moan to the media about their roles and playing time? It's just going to make the situation worse and hurts the team chemistry. There's nothing wrong with being the 6th man for your team. He's getting 29MPG, and making an impact.

He needs to be a veteran and set an example for the younger players on this team. So far Chris Bosh has dealt with teammate b.s. every season he's been in the league. He's been surrounded by complainers, Jalen Rose, Rafer Alston, Eric Williams, and now Mo Pete.

He played 30+ MPG every game but the Utah game, so their's no need to complain, Bonner was playing SF and shutting people down, so we needed him there, Mitchell must've forgotten about Mo. I shouldn't hate on Bonner for yesterday, he did hit shots, but Bonner at SF is so stupid.

i agree with shape...why is mo bitching to the media bout this? why not just go to sam mitchell, and get him to do something about it?

i do agree with mo's sentiment though...he's got a point. we're struggling on offence, and we're starting a rookin in mo's spot? come on! its not as if mo is a defensive siv...he's one of our best defenders...id rather see graham and mo starting, and jalen on the bench

it doesnt seem like a good move on coach mitchell's part. mo has paid his dues, and has earned the right to start...he should be starting, and graham should have to earn his post into the starting rotation.

this team is falling apart [IMG]
