Well, the Suns did a pretty formidable job on the road-weary Warriors, and got their first win at home. Exciting sure, but an indicator of things to come? We'll have to wait and see. But the Amare-less Suns have finally gotten over the hump, and let's hope this is the first step back towards respectability. After dropping some close ones, it's nice to reach the prize in relatively easy fashion. Marion certainly played to his level, and Bell played above his, but the guy who keeps impressing me is Barbosa. I love his nose for the basket, and what a first step. Once he gets his head out of the clouds, he will quite a formidable teammate. Some more good working of the rotations also earned D'Antoni his 100th career win. Congrats Mike, and here's to hundreds more. A couple troubling things. The Suns were outrebounded again, and more troubling is the fact that they can't shut down the second unit. I thought House would be good for that, but DFish turned in a good scoring performance. Then again, it was Nash on him most of the time, so not too huge a concern. Diaw appears to have let his offense slip for a day, but it was limited minutes anyway. More encouraging was the ball control and frontcourt D. No points from the starting 3 and 5, and little help from the bench either. Keep up the good work. I don't know if Dun and Doyle just laid eggs or what, but the numbers look good. Any insight from Warriors fans? Thanks in advance guys.
Mike hasn't been playing well all season and Foyle is just not a scorer. It's great to see Barbosa is getting more and more confident on the court now. He can really help the team out now and relieve the pressure on Nash. Barbosa is definately quick, he had the talent but wasn't sure of himself. I think the Suns went with another different starting lineup. I think D'Antoni is trying to figure out the best way for the team to get ahead quick start since they have troubles in the 4th. As for the rebounding issue, I think Jim Jackson is an excellant rebounder and would help the team a lot, but he hasn't played the past 2 games. I don't know why, I don't believe he is injured but he is definately struggling on his shot.

Not all these young backcourt players are going to be healthy all season, they have a rough schedule and a lot of these guys aren't used to 82 games. When that happens, we'll see Jackson playing as steadily as ever, I really believe that. As for Foyle and Dun, I agree they aren't, but you can't have two starters getting blanked to win a ball game. I guess Foyle didn't really play any significant minutes in the game, and the bench scored well, so it's not too huge a deal, but still you see that in a box score and just kind of do a double take. Obviously I overreacted. I like seeing that D'Antoni is still willing to tinker at this point. Usually, coaches are all done by now, and they play the lineup that's working, and guys don't get good looks, but D'Antoni seems unconcerned with the possibility of them losing early in the season, so no worries.
Your Suns simply outplayed the Warriors last night...good for you guys to get your first home win. Just some notes on the Warriors: 1) Baron Davis is playing with a strained left hamstring and I'd guesstimate he's playing at about 70%. 2) Ike Diogu (Arizona State) and Andris Biendrins have not played a single game this season due to injury. They are our only low-post offensive presence. Murphy is trying to be score more regularly down low and Foyle has some moments, but Diogu and Biendrins are definetely more specialized to score down low. I am not trying to make excuses for the W's loss, but these are significant factors as to why they have not been playing up to potential. Expect a better challenge out of the W's next time around assuming 1 and 2 are not an issue. Until then...

Injuries, as always, have played a large role in several team's seasons so far, we'll see how it plays out in the near future. I love a good game, and I'd rather a healthy B-Diddy and some post presence before I call this a huge win.
