The hawks Trade Al Harringtonfor STeph MARBURY and then Atlanta could move Joe Johnson to shooting guard if it acquired Marbury, PG Marbury SG JOhnson SF Williams PF Josh Smith C PAZA PG Marbury SG Stadumaire SF Johnson PF williams C PAZA ANY MORE TRADE THAT CAN HELP
i would do that trade in a second. however, i dont think NY would. although... thomas isn't too sharp...
No way I would do this deal if I'm Atlanta. Marbury's contract prevents the team from signing any free agent for the next 4 years. This team is rebuilding through the draft and free agency, Marbury would slow the development and ruin the plans of this team. Not having salary cap flexibility could also cost the Hawks Josh Childress or Josh Smith down the line. The college talent pool for point guards is loaded, so there's no need to worry about that position. Daniel Gibson, Rajon Rondo, Sergio Rodriguez, Ronnie Brewer, Mardy Collins, Dee Brown, Guillermo Diaz just to name a few. I think not drafting Chris Paul this year had a lot to do with who's going to be available in the 2006 draft. The Hawks should trade Al Harrington for picks or another big man. Zaza is doing great for them, but when he goes to the bench, the dropoff at center is terrible. Harrington is going to have more trade value once the trade deadline comes around. A lot of teams could use him to put them over the top in the post season.
^ good points, i guess. but, marbury if a bonafide star. plain and simple. i really think that, with him, we could win some games.

Having a payroll over $50K and not making the post season will only hurt this team down the line. The Hawks just need to be patient and let their guys develop and gain experience, so 2 or 3 years down the line they'll be one of the upcoming teams in the East.
i live in ny so im more of a knick fan and i know isiah would never make steph for al trade, and we need stephon to lead the team if he leaves there would be no other good pg to step in and we already got frye with a lot of potential, taylor, rose at the PF so we dont need al harrington
we need somebody i can't wait on another draft and we would have the worst record in the league and we end up with the 3rd pick in the draft. Who worth losing this season and drafting them in college. Also who can we trade al for and that can make a difference this year!
If we get to draft high enough, I'd bank on Rajon Rondo. Acquiring Nate Robinson would be great, because I think he would get a good opportunity to get PT in Atlanta. Nate only needs to play and get a feel for the NBA game. It seems to me the Hawks are a PG and a C away from being legitimate playoff contenders.

The Hawks need to do something. I think when a franchise has been bad for so long, they tend to make desperate moves. They tend to throw money at players that don't fit, just because they have talent. Why would you sign Joe Johnson, and have him playing the damn point. That's the worst logic I've heard of. The guy is a GREAT shooter, and beneifts best when he has a point guard feeding him the ball. Not when he's playing point, feeding the ball to players who can't shoot. Right now, the Hawks look like the Knicks. They have tons of talent, but don't have the right mix. They need somebody who's going to feed Joe Johnson the ball.

Tyronn Lue is handing much of the point guard duties for now and is actually doing a pretty good job of it. Lue's passing the ball around and occasionally hitting shots so I think it will hold up for now. Correct me if I'm wrong Atlanta fans.
Lue is alright but he no step/ Lue does not get any double team are any special attention when he does not have the ball. Statudaimare get more attention from other teams def

Well what does complaing about Childress have to do with anything either. Iggy was drafted by the Sixers a year and a half ago, get over it.
