How does Peja not being clutch make him a bad fit? It's not like the Bulls are in desperate need of a finisher.... isn't that what Gordon is for? or Hinrich for that matter?

I don't see the problem with acquiring a star like Peja personally.. He doesnt even have to replace Deng on the lineup. Deng's a versatile guy who doesnt need touches to be an effective player.. Peja is an off-ball player who will benefit greatly from the Bulls' good passers..

You guys seem to forget that all things considered, there arent that many people who can average 25 PPG in the league.. And that Peja is not a 6'10 Steve Kerr. This guy knows how to score. He's a good finisher on the break, he is automatic from anywhere on the floor if he gets open, and he has one of the best FT% in the league.

He's a matchup nightmare and will wear down his defender (if anything, his presence DEMANDS the best defender of the other team guard him-- if that shuts him down, fine, but the Bulls have other options)

This is all assuming of course that you guys can pick him up in Free Agency.. But I just don't see the downside. He's not even all that bad of a defender; sure he's no Bruce Bowen, but the guy doesnt matador either

i agree an amazing tree shooter, but doesn't play d and can't drive and he's 6'9' forward stayin behind the 3 point line, not hatin peja, he's a good player, but Deng is definetaly someone you should keep

It has everything to do with it Peja be it by trade or free agency should he come to Chicago would want big money at some point, and why would we waste big money on a player who has not shown the ability to be a clutch star, and does not make us a contender? To fill a position we already have a good player at? It makes no sense to me. Deng needs touches he is versatile but he can not do much without getting shots, and essentially he would be replacing Deng as well as others in the next four year we have to resign Gordon, Deng, Hinrich, and others so by giving Peja money that means Deng is likely gone when he hits free agency, and possibly Gordon and/or Hinrich. We would be stuck with a player getting a lot of money who does not make us a contender, and who is playing a position we already had on lock down before he got here. Seems like everyone in this thread who said acquiring Peja would be a good thing is looking at the name, and not the big picture of what it would mean.

Once you pick up a guy like Peja he will eat up quite a bit of your money. Why not be loyal to your draft picks and pay them. If the management is smart enough to keep most of these guys together they will be a contender in 5 years, based on chemisty alone.

If the Bulls picked up Peja, Deng would lose a lot of playing time, because not only will they have to give minutes to Peja, but Deng would need his AND Noc would need his. His minutes would go down, therefore his development as a player would be slowed down. I don't want to see that. I like the fact that he's getting 25-30 minutes per night. It's helping him develop his all around game, and it's going to help a lot in the long run.

Well, lets start naming. Kobe, TMac, KG, Duncan, Shaq, Wade, LeBron, Ben Gordon (hasn't but is capable), Marbury, Carter, RJ, Pierce, Dirk, Ray Allen, Iverson, Francis, Redd, Joe Johnson (hasn't but capable), JO, Artest, Rashard Lewis, Melo, Rip, Arenas, Hughes, Jamison, Ginobli, etc. Well, that's 27 alone right there. I could have kept going but it grew boring. So, yea, I'd say there are plenty of people in the league who can drop 25 a night. And I'm curious, what Peja do you watch, cause I've never really seen Peja finish with any type of authority or finesse.

He's a one dimensional player. He doesn't really move off the ball too much and he doesn't work it inside. All he does is stand and shoot. That's not that hard to defend. The only thing that could make it complicated is the fact that he's 6'10" playing the SF, and even then, most of the SFs are athletic enough to defend his shot, despite being shorter than him. So please, explain why he's such a nightmare defensively, I'd love to know.

He's not much of a defender. He's getting older. He's nearing the end of his prime. He doesn't add anything that the Bulls don't already have. Been known to disappear in the clutch. Hmm...those are quite a few if you ask me. So please, indulge me after reading this post, and tell me again, why do the Bulls need him?

Just thought I'd make a post to show your flaws. Half the players you've named never have averaged 25 points per. You stated that some of the players could drop 25. We're talking average, not drop it every few games (you know what I mean). Some of the people you named never will average 25 ppg. Ben Gordon is capable of 25ppg? News to me. Now he's a very good player, and may averag 25 in the future, but I honlestly don't think he will this year.

And also, just because they will never average it, doesn't mean they can't. I guarantee if you put a player like Ginobli on a team lacking an offensive prescence, he'd be able to do it. So, I'm really not all that wrong. Because quite frankly, I was just making a point that a lot of players are capable of it. Not once did I say that they will ever do it.

Peja has never averaged 25 neither the most he ever averaged was 24.2 and he never averaged more than 21 any other season prior or post that one. Look Here.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Warriorfansnc93:</div><div class="quote_post">He was a legit MVP candidate. He scored 25pts per game. How long will it be until Deng does that IF he ever does. See that is the thing with fans. They get so enamoured with a play or 2 and begin having thoughts of the next Jordan or Magic or whatever that you get blinded by his "potential". Yet when a sure thing is staring you in the face you say, no because he MIGHT be just as good someday. But you forget, he MIGHT NOT be as good ever...</div>

I dunno if Peja was ever a legit mvp candidate for a season, the only time those words were ushered is when cwebb went down for a period of time a few seasons ago in the first half. At the end of no season has someone actually thought peja had a shot at mvp. Peja also doesn't show up in the playoffs as he's proved time and again.

Let's take a deep breath here, I would love to see Peja in a Bulls uniform, we just have to wait for the summer to roll around to sign him. In the meantime I read somewhere, I think it was Matt Buser, but he said we should trade Deng for a good big guy. That makes sense, Deng is talented and has a good trade value. Peja is incredibly awesome, he can play D when he wants to, I've watched Peja for a long time since I used to be a huge Kings fan (when C-webb was there), and of course I've seen Deng too cuz I'm always going to be a Bulls fan..

Peja might be older, but so what? Peja is the 2nd best shooter in the league, why wouldn't you want that on your team? Nocioni would be a great backup for Peja. We can get a solid big guy (from the Deng trade) to help Songolia back up Sweetney and Chandler (If Nene didn't get injured I would love to have him..other big guys don't really come to mind yet..time..). Our backcourt stays untouched with Duhon, Hinrich, Gordon, Pargo. The Bulls will just be alot better.

Bottom line is we do not trade Deng for Peja, instead sign Peja in the summer and in the meantime trade Deng (hurts me saying that) for another young valuable big guy..

I'm not sure the Bulls will be willing to give Peja everything his agent will ask for, but there's probably a middle ground that can easily be reached by both sides. If the Kings are convinced they're going to lose Peja, it makes sense for them to trade him before the deadline rather than get nothing in return a few months later." ESPN.com</div>

God I hope this is not true. If we make this move I think we will end up regretting it in the future.
