The Allen question was a theoretical one, not a literal one. I think you got my point though. I have many of the same doubts about this Cowboys team, but I think a lot of people overplay the age thing. I think people need to look at the players, not the age. In San Diego, there will be 1 rookie starter on offense, but they will still average over 2 years younger than the KC offense, and little difference in age than the Colts skill players on offense. On defense, they are equivalent to the Pats and are really close to the Pats age overall. Ultimately for me, it comes down to these changes. Unless unexpected injuries occur, I think we improved by 2 games. I don't expect to sweep Wash and NY...maybe neither. I do think 3-3 or 4-2 in the division is still reasonable, though. QB Bledsoe replaces Testeverde. Parcells knows what Bledsoe's weaknesses are. He gameplanned against them to beat them last year. He knows he has to coach around them now. RB Jones played only half-year last year. I remind you that Eddie "2.9" George was the backup. WR Glenn was having a really good year last year if you look at the stats before he got hurt. Additionally, the time Glenn and Julius Jones were on the field at the same time was minimum. KJ isn't going to be a huge threat, but if Glenn can stay healthy, those two along with Price and Witten will complement each other to spread the field nicely. Price is a much better #3 than we had last year. Most Bills fans will admit that they knew he would struggle as a #1 in Atlanta, but he was a decent #2 with Moulds in Buffalo. OL Gurode made a lot of bad plays at RG. He is a much better C (he played both in college) and will rotate in well. Rivera is a better RG as long as he stays healthy. We really had no consistent RT last year that was worth anything, so this year's choice cannot be worse. NT Ferguson is a top NT and will help with the DL rotation. Spears and Canty, even though rookies, cannot perform worse than Wiley's 31 tackles and 3 sacks. LB Ware and Burnett are young and will make some mistakes, but Ware will upgrade our pass rush over last year. CB I dont think I have to convince anyone that Aaron Glenn and Anthony Henry will be much better than we had last year at that rotating spot.
I know what you mean but..... Glenn and Johnson haven't had a 1000 yard year receiving in quite a while and have dropped off a bit. No denying It! Say what you want. Well so and so was playing great. Well that was last year. Last season if you take Mewelde Moore's 3 game starting span and his statistics in those 3 games he started is averages out to 1800 rushing and 1800 receiving yards. Around that area. Not happening. Price is an addition but again is Bledsoe a good quality QB anymore. I think no! You think Yes! We differ. Thats ok. There is also no proof that Jone can stay healthy or handle the bulk of carries. What if he misses a game or 2. Then that puts a lot of pressure on Dallas. The defense looks like a top 10 defense but is still got it's weak points. Secondary for one. Yes Roy Williams a pure Stud but Newman needs to step up which I think he can and Henry needs to play solid. Will he. No idea there. Anyones call. I think he'll win and loose some. Average corner in the NFL. As for your other saftey. Well ehhhhhh..... not pretty but who knows!! The offensive line has 2 older guards. I believe Rivera is a Pro Bowl type of player yet but line him up on a stud DT and he'll have a rough time. He had back problems in Green Bay and played through them. Thats the only reason why he was let go. The Packers feel a fall off in his game because of problems. You have an average NFL line. Which will need to play very solid for Bledsoe. If so then he might be alright, All in all if you ask any NFL scout the Cowboys appear to be a sub 500 team talent wise now but because of their Coach Bill Parcells whos never had 2 loosing seasons in a row fans and media are high on the Cowboys. I don't blame them! Parcells is a guru. For me though the lack of a passing game will hurt Jones production a bit and I am still optimistic about the defense. I don't mean to come off about the Cowboys. It's just bold predictions like the Cowboys are a playoff team and the Packers aren't gets me blood boiling sometimes. I know it wasn't you and I respect you for defending your team. Dallas is in the NFC so for that they have a Chance! Would I give them a chance in the AFC. Hell no. Would I put money on them in the playoffs if they play the Falcons,Panthers,Vikings, or yes the Eagles. Probably not but on Any Given Sunday anything can happen. If they made the playoffs I wouldn't be totally shocked. A little embarassed for calling them overhyped then but not totall shocked. With Parcells it's a def in the air and could happen. With anyother coach besides maybe the other Bill. Then I doubt we're even having this lovely debate. Thats my main point.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (porky88)</div><div class='quotemain'>Even so Price signs and now Cowboy fans should pack their bags for Detroit in Feb. Not that type of signing.</div> Yea your right, all im saying that is a upgrade to that recieving core. I dont see the cowboys getting past the 1st or 2nd round of the playoffs IF they actually do get to the playoffs
