He showed last night what happens when we give the guy the ball. I hope that continues. He had some very nice moves in route to 7-11 shooting and 21 points.(also got to the line for 10 FT's) Since he was so involved on the offense, he seemed to crash the boards more than normal and was way more aggressive. Dwight will of course have his bad games, but then he will have his 20-20 games, its worth it to me to keep giving him the ball even when he is struggling, just to show that we have confidence in his offensive game enough to continue giving him the ball. I still would like to see like 12-15 shots a game though, but double digits is fine.
I was looking at the recap of the game and I see that Dwight had a 21,20, Wow was I glad to see that against Okafor also who some people say the magic should have drafted 1st.

Dammn right Dwight is the future. This guy can finish, he kind of reminds me of Amare, i dont know why, maybe its the dunks he gets, just a great finisher.

He's made some nice moves in the first couple of games and couldn't put it in. He has games that he just goes off and looks like a great one, but then the next night he misses a lot of makeable shots. He's an inconsistent finisher. Like the last game against the Bobcats, I was very impressed and I was surprised at some of the shots that he was making, but he's had those games where you are like, HOW DO YOU MISS THAT?
Dwight impressed me alot this last game and I think this is just a glimpse of what we will see in years to come. He is developing into a very good player and with each game played this season his stats have improved. He got off to a shaky start but recently he has been getting into a rythem and other teams are having difficulty stopping him. Hopefully after Dwight played so well against his "rival" Emeka Okafor, the coaches will feed him the ball more often. It is important that we continue to run plays through him and let him score in the paint. When he contributes with his scoring, the Magic win games because it takes pressure off of our perimeter scorers. The coaches know what Dwight can do so it's just a matter of them going out and designing plays for him.
The Magic have got to do a better job of getting Howard involved in the offense. He's only been getting 7-8 shots per game, but he's making the most of them. The kid has rediculous talent, and he'll blossom if the Magic make a point of getting him the ball. There are few low post scoring options on the team, and I know that some of the perimeter guys are shot happy, but they've got to find a way to get Howard consistently involved in the offense. When they do, he'll put up stats that are in the high rent district of Jermaine O'Neal and Tim Duncan.

I know this is an old thread but I want to bring it back up since Dwight has been a beast lately. He has become a bigger part of the offense and has been contributing for us on both ends of the court. He is also turning into one of the better rebounders in the league. We all predicted that he would have a bigger role on this team this season and so far he has stepped up and played well in that new role. He has been a consistent player who is performing better then anyone else in his draft class right now. I think many questioned us after we took a high schooler (Howard) over a NCAA champion (Okafor). The Magic went with Dwight because they assumed he would be better then Emeka in the future. Not only has he shown signs of greatness for the future, he has been playing better then Okafor this season. I think Dwight has impressed a lot of people this season and he will continue to do so throughout the course of his career.
