It's actually Game #8....I just erased last nights thrashing out of my memory at the time I named the thread. Tonight the Celtics try to recover from the four quarter meltdown that cost them a chance to deal the Pistons their first loss on the season. Hopefully, they play better tonight against a Supersonics squad that that got beaten like they owed someone money last night as well. Sit back and grab a seat. Tune into FSN New England and prepare to hear news tidbits about the Patriots, Red Sox, Bruins (wasn't hockey illegal or something for a while?..those were the days) AND Revolution before someone mentions the C's. Prepare for Donny Marshall to give his NBA inside information (!) in the pregame show. Let's get it crackin'
Damn. I knew we did good against Seattle, but did you see those stats that FSN showed? In the last six meetings, we're 6-0 - outscoring them 107-88 on average. We've also shot 50% to their 39%, and 44% to their 31% from the three. And add to all that, we've outrebounded them 47 to 38, on average.
You know what they say about stats, right?...No, for real, I'm asking...The end of the 1st quarter and the C's are down 31-28. The nets have been singed due to the hot shooting of both teams, especially Ray Allen who is recovering nicely from a horrendous outing last night (4-18 from the field). Two minutes into the 2nd quarter and the game seems to be getting away from them. The score as of this writing is: Seattle 39 Boston 30 after two free throws. One.
As a side note, did anyone hear about Antoine Walker and Gary Payton attending Tara Reid's 30th birthday party in Miami? Supposedly, they don't get along....goodness Ric Bucher, you are slipping into the abyss down at ESPN.com. Terribly careless turnover by Orien Greene. One.
Halftime. The score: Seattle 63 Boston 45. The bottom has OFFICIALLY fallen out of this one. This game can drop the C's to 3-5 on the season pending a miraculous comeback. It's getting borderline embarassing out there. The look on Doc's face says it all...on the bright side, Scalabrine was where he belonged...on the bench, watching. One.
The Sonics are playing their best ball of the year so far, and we're playing our worst. We do have at least one run left in us, but I'm not sure it'll be enough. We've been outhustled, outrebounded, and outsmarted all game so far. My bright side is the same as yours, plus I also don't mind losing to another team I like. If my Celtics can be a part of Seattle's turnaround this season, consider me honored. P.S. Tommy and Cousy have me cracking up right now. Their sarcastic response to Gorman's prediction has been hilarious.
Aww man! So I have erase this game from my memory as well? Just think fans, if I had $40 on me rather than paying my Comcast digital cable bill I would have been at tonight's game in my usual excellent seats (I only pay half. I got a hook up)...that would have been dissapointing. One.
I'm shocked to see you guys go down tonight. Who got the defensive role on Ray Allen? We don't get coverage in my part of the world so i'd appreciate if someone who is watching could answer that for me.

Ricky was pretty decent offensively as well, but where was the help? Ray had Sweet Lew and Nick Collison having strong games, as well as Ridnour racking up the assists, but the likes of Pierce and West were nowhere to be seen.
My dad said Ray Allen was his favorite basketball player of all time. He knows nothing about sports, but he knows who can shoot. But in all honesty... why? how? We seem to always do the same thing year after year and give up stupid fouls at pivotal moments of games (see: Chauncey last night). It's all in how you handle pressure/comeback situations.. we don't handle them well.
