Frye will never be a banger but had become a well rounded 6-11 player. He has pretty nice skills and is stronger than a lot of people thought. He should be starting

How did Frye ever get compared to Tim Duncan lite? Must have been that Tim Kawakami was the only one that said that.

They once said the same thing about Loren Woods. I watched Frye last night, he's not bad, but he did prefer shooting those 18 footers instead of taking it to the rack. He was very active on the offensive and defensive glass, and is slowly shedding the soft label. The Lakers big men aren't exactly a true test, because they aren't very physical. I'd like to see Frye mix it up with Zach Randolph or Danny Fortson or KG.

Damn. While Frye is not a monster in the post, at least he's got a shooting touch (he banks some jumpers), rebounds, and will block shots. Oh, and not a head case either.

IKE? Well its just that he's smaller.

Don't forget he's not that athletic either. Oh well at least he's not a stiff or soft. He's got some quickness, he gets off the ground fast and has lots of strength. Plus he's just talented, smart, energetic and aggressive. He seems to have a good mix of finesse and power which allows him to play bigger than he is (think Jrich and the fact he's not really 6'6 at all, or Charles Barkley who was overweight looking and only 6'4).

Had Ike been taller he might have been toe-to-toe with Andrew Bogut in the draft since Ike was a guy that was also dominant in college. He was consistent as the team's star player and put up double doubles and high scoring through constant double and triple team pressure in the Pac-10. Blocks, rebounding, inside scoring, nice basketball I.Q., can shoot the nba three ball. And he can do a lot of those things very well.

For some reason though, I don't think he'll be great right out of the gates, but he'll be very solid, sort of like how Sean May has been with 30 minutes a game. Maybe 15 points, 8-10 rebounds a game. He'll get minutes since he's probably the guy that will bring the things that we desperately need such as inside scoring, getting to the foul line, converting free throws, shotblocking, another guy that can draw double teams, rebounding, etc.

Thanks Shape for the Frye post.
