Rose was held off the scoreboard for the first time in a game since Feb. 20, 1998. But last night wasn't his first poor game of the season. He hasn't topped 15 points in his past five games.

"Being a winless team, everybody wants to contribute and try to help the team get a win," Rose said. "Obviously, I'm no different. I feel like the team needs me to produce ... I just felt like if I'd have been on the floor, I probably would have hopefully made a play."

Raptors coach Sam Mitchell, who smashed and broke a clipboard after a Matt Bonner turnover in the second half, felt Rose was out of sync.

"He probably couldn't have got in rhythm and the guys who were on the floor were playing well," Mitchell said.

A night after a horrible start led to a 104-92 road loss against the surging Sixers, the Raptors did the exact same thing last night, falling behind by 20 in the first quarter.

The Raptors, who started Chris Bosh at centre and gave forward Matt Bonner his first career start, have outscored an opponent in just one first quarter this season.

"Those feelings we have to muster up inside ourselves when we're down 20 points, we can't get that right away for some reason," said Bosh, who notched his fifth consecutive double-double (23 points, 10 rebounds). "All it takes is one game, one first quarter to start like that and after that, it will probably click in our heads." </div>
