High school JV is as high as I can go, so it's not much to speak of, but anyway... I started out as a big man and eventually became a guard. I am only 5'9", but with 6'1" wingspan and hop, I was able to grab rebounds and block. Then, I learned to pass and shoot over 10 years, and now if small guy guards me, I try to go inside and if tall guy guards me, I hang around at 3 pts line. But, my performance dramatically changes depends on the talent level, because I am kinda like Dunleavy, who can do everything and can't do anything special...

I'm in So Cal but I go up North quite a bit to see family and I'll play if you can take it easy on an old guy (38). I play pick up games at my gym and mostly play a point forward type position. I'd rather drive and dump off as my three point shot is like Dunn's right now (ouch). I rebound and play some D (just try to keep my guy outside).
Someone said they had some injuries and would rather play inside. I might be able to secure a high school gym if some might be up to a drive to Napa.

Kensaku, when was the last time you were down at the Koret Center?

I played down there a lot when I was in law school. I was there from '01-'04, and if you were down there at all during '02 or '03, I was on the court too. I was one of the big white guys who played down on the post on defense and hung out on the perimeter on offense.

I attended USF from 01 - 03, so I must have played with and against you. I was literally there everyday. I was the short Asian dude that sometimes would play well and sometimes played horrible...LOL.

Well, by your description, it narrows the Koret demographic to about 90%.[IMG]

Hope to catch you for some hoops in the near future though.[IMG]

Yeah, I'm afraid your description would pretty much apply to the other 90%...

Now if you said your name was Dave, the big asian guy who everyone seemed to know, that would be narrowing it down.

But yeah, I really need to start playing ball again. I live over by the catro/noe valley area, but if I started playing ball again, it would be down at Koret. They've got great games there, it's just the right mix of basketball skill and athletic ability and for the most part, everyone gets along with each other.

I know Dave!!! He was really awful when I met him but seemed to progress...I wonder if he still has Adonal Foyle hand syndrome.[IMG]

    I love to play pickup...

I play 2x week ( M & sat ) outside in Santa Clara, at around 12:00 noon, and 2x week ( W & F ) at City Beach indoors in Santal Clara, also at 12:00 noon, if any of you guys want to come hoop it up.

I just turned 36, am 6', ~210, and dunked ONCE in my life when I was 17 - now I can *almost* get rim, which is not bad considering I used to weigh 280 lbs of pure man.

I'm a 2 guard with an inconsistent jump shot shot ( but decent form ), and a hook shot with either hand. Trying to work on my passing.

Used to play in high school. 6'2" guard. Was playing in a "older" league until just recently. Was closing our pool, had the tops off of the skimmers and was blowing the water out of the lines. I had just gotten two lab puppies and looked around to see where they were and, now don't laugh, stepped in the skimmer. My foot became lodged in the skimmer and I lost my balance and fell in the pool. However, my foot did not come out of the skimmer for about two seconds. I broke the bone in my leg, bent the same bone in my leg, and tore up just about everything else in my ankle except the achilles. The water was 50 degrees when I fell in so it didn't really hurt until I got to the emergency room. When I saw the surgeon he told me that I would probably limp the rest of my life.

Well after surgery, an 8 inch rod and 8 screws and a lot of intense therapy I am happy to report that I do not limp. However, the swelling is always present. The only thing I have in common with a basketball player right now is that my left foot is always in a bucket of ice. However, I do aspire to get back on the court at some time. Would love to join all of you in a rousing game but I am located on the East Coast.

    Love reading this forum.

I am a warriors fan - I like both teams, but lately the Ws are much better than the lame Qs...
