Sorry its a lil late but I wrote this for the first week of the season First Week Impressions Well, we are a couple of games into the regular season. You can not get an excellent idea of the season, but I will try my best. ? 3rd year player TJ Ford is back for his 2nd season. The spinal cord injury that kept him out for a year and a half had a lot of fans worried. Will he come back the same? Will he be timid out there? In the first two games of the season we know the answers are no. TJ is not the same, but I mean that in a good way. TJ as shown his usual quickness, but has added a potent offensive attack to his game. ? With the first pick in the 2005 NBA Draft the Milwaukee Bucks select Andrew Bogut. With the second pick in the 2005 NBA draft the Atlanta Hawks select Marvin Williams. Now came the question, who is better? Well in the first couple of games both rookies have shown that they will be some fine players down the road. Bogut appears to be both a good rebounder and a defensive presence. Bogut?s ability to grab rebounds and block shots sometimes is overlooked. People look at the offensive stats like points per game and shooting percentage. 11.5 points per game and a .445 shooting percentage. That?s not too shabby for any player. One thing that stands out to me is Bogut?s free-throw percentage. Bogut is 3-6 on they year. That?s only 6 shots, but you want to see your big men knock down their freebies. ? Was Micheal Redd worth 90 million dollars? Well in the first two games it appears like the answer is yes. Redd has scored 30 points and 41 points (a career high) in his first two games. Redd is shooting 50% which is very rare for a SG who shoots as much as Redd does. So is Redd at the level of a Kobe? No, let?s not get ahead of ourselves there. Although, look to see Redd playing during the All Star Break. ? Finally, Larry Harris is one of the best GM?s in the NBA. He deserves every dollar he earns. I?m glad to see he will be with us at least through the 2007-2008 season.
Good stuff, man. The best part is, those early observations are still holding true. Redd is one of the top scorers in the league so far, Bogut has been a major presence on the glass, and TJ is lighting people up. Now if we could just do something about our defense...
