What do you guys think?
Nothing is more dangerous than playing a team that sucks and is full of young talent that's on the road during a long losing streak when you are looking for a much needed win yourself. One.
Dan Dickau & Brian Scalabrine are: Double Trouble! Coming to an arena near you this basketball season! I thought Araujo touched that ball and it shouldn't have counted. End of the 1st Toronto 22 Boston 18. One.
This has been a crappy game all around so far. There's no rhythm to it at all, which makes it scary because Toronto has taken the early lead. It's not that we look bad, it's that the shots aren't falling.
Toronto 36 Boston 29 as of this writing. Toronto is playing like they want this one bad...Raef nails the trey from the corner. The Toronto Raptors have a plethora of young talent....and Araujo. One.
Charlie Villenueva is looking good. Nice range on his jumper, real good rebounder on the offensive end, and seems to be very active.
Charlie Villanueva is playing like the Toronto Raptors organization has his family held hostage and they won't release them until the Raps win a game...I was watching the unusually close Wake Forest vs. Texs Tech game and looking at scores of games running across the bottom of the screen...these are actual school names: Elon Spring Hill Truman State Macalaster Panhandle State ("I have a Masters from Panhandle State....you wouldn't happen to have any spare change on you by any chance?") Needless to say, ALL of these team were getting beaten mercilessly by Division 1 schools. One.
I'm as excited as I can be after beating a team like the Raptors. I had totally convinced myself we were going to lose after the first half, and I didn't get confident until late in the 4th. Ricky and Paul had some nice games, and the team made some great adjustments at halftime. Villaneuva was killing us in the first, but he did basically nothing in the second. Also have to give it up to Dickau, who made some nice plays.
This was good for a change. Now I get to post a list of 5 Things I Like Slightly Less Than Seeing The Celtics Win as opposed to my 10 Things I Hate More Than Seeing The Celtics Lose. It was a hard fought and much needed win. 4-5 on the season. One.
Good win? I guess... Toronto was dying for a victory, and thank God the Celtics kept them winless. The Celtics looked ridiculous in the beginning of the game-stupid play after stupid play, some bad calls out of the ref's didn't help. It wasn't looking to good for the C's at that point. I don't think a loss to Toronto would have gone so well in Boston and in the Media. But they pulled away at the end, and it was a good team effort. Once again it was Ricky and Paul down the stretch and they got the other guys involved. Blount also had a few key plays. Not a very clean game, but its a 'W'
That was the only Celtics game I've seen this year, but they looked just as bad defensively as the Raps. However, I'm sure that they're a much better team than they showed last night. The only difference I saw was that they could give the ball to a definite scoring option (Ricky, Pierce) when they were in a jam, while nobody on the Raps has really shown that they should have the ball when the game is on the line.
