    Quick Recap

    Keys to Victory

Like the TJ Fords, the Speedy Claxtons, Brevin Knights, Mighty Mouse Stoudemires, look for Baron to take advantage of these guys in the post to take their blazing speed out of the equation. Hopefully, Jrich has a big game like he always seems to do in front of a Portland Audience. Bdiddy/Jrich are working against an inexperienced backcourt of Monia/Webster/Telfair/Jack/Blake. If the Blazers use guys like Juan Dixon or Jarret Jack at shooting guard, look for Jrich to start posting up as well.

The one thing that Portland does have are some pretty talented and solid forwards and a nice defensive center lineup. They also have a nice coach who is serious about the game and makes it so the players feel the same way as he does. Zach Randolph is a consistent producer of 20/10 type stats thx to his size and footwork. Darius Miles is putting up some good numbers and is doing a little bit of everything except hitting 3-pointers consistently and hitting free throws accurately. Reuben Patterson offers some tough defense and nice midrange scoring and Travis Outlaw might show something tonight. Sergei Monya is also a good defensive forward that can shoot the three. Pryzbilla and Theo Ratliff offer a nice tandem of centers that can rebound, block shots, and score on lots of putbacks or easy dunks. If we see Ha Seung Jin out on the floor it means one of the teams just got blown out or maybe there was some foul trouble among the centers.

The one thing Portland may have trouble with is shooting, but they have a lot of guys who can handle things defensively and are athletic to beat some guys in transition. D-Miles could play some shooting guard as he is one of the few who can handle the ball and pass it. Portland would either play a really big lineup using small forward as shooting guards or they can play small with a point guard/combo guard lineup. There dosen't seem to be a natural lineup unless Martell Webster is playing the shooting guard.

Let's hope our Forwards can outproduce the other forwards and that we have some good help coming from our centers. I think our backcourt can handle anything Portland can throw at us, but our frontcourt has had some tough times against the more athletic, shotblocking types. Those same shotblocking types might force us to go perimeter a whole lot if we can't dribble our way inside. A guy like Telfair can stay in front and maybe Sergei Monya is a 6'8 forward that can move laterally like a guard. We know D-Miles can also guard shooting guards. This could be tougher than we think unless we play smart and start hitting our shots and start running plays.
Warriors should still drive as much as they can since Zach Randolph isn't much of a defender and Pryzbilla is known to be somewhat foul prone. A decently quick shooting guard with some ballhandling still should be able to beat an athletic natural forward off the dribble. Look for Jrich to drive a lot this game. Murphy should get plenty of looks if Randolph won't venture that far out from the paint. Look for the Dunleavy struggles to continue this game (just a guess, but last game against the Blazers he put up 20, but that was in April).

    Notes

Warriors will win this one 92 - 88. I see a possible poster by Jrich on Theo Ratliff's dome.

We need a bigger game tonight from BD. These guys are bad at the line, so I'm hoping that we plan a game plan towards that. Good thread custodian!!
Tafts looking more and more like a steal. Hmmm.

Dunleavy knocked down two of two free throws. That's a good sign. If he airballs one, then we're in trouble. He's the only guy I've witnessed that can actually airball a free throw. Even Shaq comes closer on his worst attempt.

Okay, I'm already not liking what Dunleavy is showing. Bad pass that hit nobody and then turned it over and then he goes for a steal and winds up with nothing and gives up an easy dunk.

Foyle should not take any shot if it's 5 feet away from the hoop...

Why the heck was Cheaney even in there. My goodness he ignored the shooter in the corner and settled for something outside his range. Man Cheaney used to be good but man he's just doing some questionable things out there in his last two years with the squad.

He kind of reminds me of Sura. Not that hot off the bench, but pretty productive when starting.

Damnit, Dunleavy... The guy just can't buy a bucket. Not even if he walked into KFC.

Dunleavy even screwed up catching the Jrich bounce pass for an easy layup. Man what is up with the guy? Now he's 0 for 4. Man on second thought, put Cheaney back in.

I don't think I can explain how bad Dumpleavy is.

Already 0-3. His shot looks ugly too.

Well I hope New Orleans or some team had somebody fantastic they can give us so Mullin doesn't look like an idiot again for re-signing Mike Dunleavy Jr. so early and for so much. Either that or Dunleavy actually plays up to his contract. He'll never play up to his draft standing, but he should at least play up to his contract. No more being a man-gina, Dun, time to start playing.

I hope and expect to see more Pietrus in the 2nd half and Dumpleavy to the bench.

Worse contract than Fisher, or even Foyle.

I can understand paying for Murphy, Jrich, Fisher, Foyle because they've had a history of something they are well known for. Dunleavy's been known as a perennial disappointment. I sure hope things pick up soon because he's never been one to play consistently or in a lot of games where we need scoring production from him. He just scores within the flow and that's really annoying when he's not even scoring now.
