<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel - Bucks rookie Andrew Bogut suffered a broken nose late in the third quarter when he took an inadvertent elbow from Philadelphia guard Allen Iverson and will have surgery on it this morning. The masked 7-foot rookie returned in the final period and helped the Bucks to a 108-97 victory at the Bradley Center.

"I had to laugh a little bit when he came out of the locker room," teammate Joe Smith said. "Playing in a mask like that takes some time to get used to. You could tell when he first went back in the game, his peripheral vision and everything was thrown off a little bit.

"I think he did a good job of adjusting and doing what he needed to do to make the plays."

Bogut finished with nine points and nine rebounds in a solid 23-minute effort, as the Bucks' frontcourt dominated the 76ers.

"That just shows how much heart he has," Smith said. "We're down in the paint a lot. It happened once, and it could happen again in the course of the game. For him to be able to stick his nose back in there, that's something that shows he's a tough kid." </div>

It was great to see Bogut come back after taking that swat from AI, he showed some toughness there. You've got to like it when your young big man breaks his nose and still comes back to collect 12 boards in a game [IMG]

Hopefully this won't affect Bogut's offense too much, though it appears that most of his shots are coming on dunks or deep in the paint, so maybe it isn't all that big a deal.

Schaddy, why do you think Bogut got 12 rebounds? He had 9,every box score and recap shows that. This was a good win for the Bucks. They were able to get the rebounds unlike the Sixers and that got the the victory for them.
I bet this game would've been more interesting if AI and Webber wouldn't have had the flu but injurys and stuff are part of the game so I ain't complaining. The Bucks were better last time and hopefully the Sixers can turn thing around next time these 2 teams meet

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">ESPN - Milwaukee Bucks rookie center Andrew Bogut had successful surgery Thursday on his broken nose.

The No. 1 pick in this year's NBA draft, Bogut was hurt when Allen Iverson's hand hit him in the face during the third quarter of Milwaukee's 108-97 win over the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday night.

Bogut came back in the fourth quarter with a face mask to protect his nose.

The Bucks said Bogut will be required to wear a protective mask for at least six weeks. He is day-to-day.

Milwaukee also placed forward Josh Davis on waivers. Davis appeared in only one game this season, on Nov. 2 against New Jersey. </div>

Wow, that was quick. Hopefully the mask doesn't affect his performance.

I do like the toughness Bogut is showing this season, and playing the fourth with a broken nose with a mask shows some good toughness for him early in the season.
