While searching for Diogu themes I found this campaign button from the Eisenhower-Nixon campaign. http://ronwade.freeservers.com/IkeDickClubLitho.JPG
How about Silk or Velvet. I could see Ike in the red velvet smoking jacket. I think he should where the velvet on road trips and the slik at home.
The best were "Earl the Pearl" Monroe; "Clyde" Frazier; Wilt "the Big Dipper"; "Dr. J"; We need nicknames again. Not lame ones like "Franchise", etc. that are so narcissistic (full of themselves), but ones that are descriptive. "The Answer" is borderline narcissistic. "Chocolate Thunder". I really liked "the Glove."
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting custodianrules2:</div><div class="quote_post">Baron is Baron (I dunno who came up with Bdiddy but it's kind of silly but catchy)</div> Baron's lates nick name is Boom Dizzle... <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> The nickname "Too Easy" comes from Davis' days at New York's famed Rucker Park. He's also been known on the playground as Juicy, Machiavelli, Boss and Bodyguard, though it's his latest tag -- BoomDizzle -- that brings the biggest smile to his face. Davis was having dinner with UCLA mates Jelani McCoy and Ray Young when they started calling him Boom. Young added the Dizzle, in honor of the old Reebok shoe. Now the two are part of the brotherhood Davis is counting on to build his grassroots empire. </div>
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Warriors Redux:</div><div class="quote_post">Baron's lates nick name is Boom Dizzle...</div> Wow, that's funny. I'd have to hear it a lot to get used to it. I'm too used to "B-Diddy runs the City".

Speaking of Sports Center they had the highlights from the Hornets game on there in the beginning. They said "Its not Sports Center until Jrich dunks" and then they said "And Richard Jefferson" Then when they showed Jefferson dunking later in the show they made another Jrich comment. Looks like Jrich is finally getting some national recognition now that we are winning!
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Air Pietrus:</div><div class="quote_post">BJM, the sig will take a bit longer than expected. I'm having trouble finding good pics</div> Take your time. I dont mind the wait.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting custodianrules2:</div><div class="quote_post">Kobe's Rucker park nickname sounds so nerdy. I think his dad had a better nickname with Jellybean. I think King Kong for Ike Diogu is a bad idea since it can be taken in a very very bad, bad way. The Beast was Ben Wallace's old nickname until he became just "Big Ben". Diogu is a monster inside the paint so how about Ike-zilla? Dikembe Mutombo is Mount Mutombo btw. The best basketball nickname I've heard was "The Professor" because he "takes you to school". I love that handle.</div> Good call on King Kong. I liked it until you made me realize it could be taken the wrong way. Also, if the Professor is supposed to take you to school, shouldn't he be "the bus driver" or, less poetically, "the truancy enforcement dept."?
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting shapecity:</div><div class="quote_post">Kobe's latest nickname is the Black Mamba. The Mike & Ike sig was great. </div> I agree about the Mike & Ike sig, but that ike button is great too. btw, "White Chocolate" was my favorite recent nickname. And there needs to be another baskeball player from Planet Lovetron as well...
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting wtwalker77:</div><div class="quote_post"> Also, if the Professor is supposed to take you to school, shouldn't he be "the bus driver" or, less poetically, "the truancy enforcement dept."?</div> I meant "The Professor" schools you rather than "takes you to school". For Ike how about "Ike-tacular"?
The nickname I like is Shelden Williams .. "The Landlord" because he owns the painted area. In college Ike was referred to as "The Army of One."
There are guys who actually play under nicknames, rather than their real full names, for example: Daron Blaylock: Mookie Vernell Coles: Bimbo Ronald Jones: Popeye Tyrone Bogues: Mugsy Gawen Deangelo Wells: Bonzi Collier Brown: PJ Anthony Webb: Spud Lloyd B. Free: World (well not technically a nickname, it was legally changed) Jerome Richardson: Pooh Jerome Edwards: Blue Anfernee Hardaway: Penny William Parker: Smush Nate Archibald: Tiny There are more, but this is off the top of my head: Ike kind of falls into that category, just as Emeka Okafor (Chukwuemeka Noubuisi Okafor).. I don't think his parents even call him Ikechukwa Somotochukwa Diogu when he gets in trouble. "Ikechukwa Somotochukwa Diogu, get down here this instant!" ? And then there are the "title" nicknames, here's some you left out CR: Bryant Reeves: Big Country Damon Stoudamire: Mighty Mouse Sam Perkins: Big Smooth (was suggested for Ike eh?) Stacy Augmon: Plastic Man Dan Marjerle: Thunder Dan Karl Malone: The Mailman Fred Hoiberg: The Mayor Pete Maravich: Pistol Pete David Robinson: The Admiral Robert Parish: The Chief Hakeem Olajuwon: The Dream Wilt Chamberlain: The Stilt There are a lot more older retired players I've forgotten.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">In their limited time together, Diogu and Biedrins have a thunder-and-lightning quality on offense, which isn't to say that either is slow. Biedrins has the length to complement Diogu's strength. Both have a knack for getting to the ball and each grabbed five offensive rebounds in Monday's win. </div> This is from Janny Hu's article today: http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?...SPGG4G0B8C1.DTL The more I think about it, the more I like those nicknames for the two. Sort of like when Arenas wanted to be Boy Wonder to Richardson's Batman. BTW, I love the Boy Wonder nickname for Arenas, I hope it catches on.
Great list, Zhone! Don't forget former Warrior, Craig Claxton, also known as "Speedy". Andris "Lightning" Biedrins Ike "Thunder" Diogu What about Andris' nickname "Big Dre". Ike could be the "The Ike-on" (the Icon)
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting shapecity:</div><div class="quote_post">The Ike-On ... pure genius!</div> haha, thx shape
