I don't have an official link however this was reported on the realgm board by a member there. Hope it is not true I will post any updates I find. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">On NBA fastbreak Chris Brousard who is a new addition to ESPN bball analysts I think, because I have never seen him before. Just Reported that Ben Gordon wants to be a starter, and his agent is pushing for him to be moved to somewhere where he can start. Because Ben views himself not only as a starter but an all star type player. This is probably just ESPN making up junk, just like the Deng being likely to be moved article on ESPN insider the other day, but I thought it was noteworthy that he said it on the show just now. This is contradicting about everything that Ben has said publicly in the local papers about his role, but I can see him getting tired of seeing less than 30 minutes a night at some point.</div>
hope this is not true i want ben to stay in chicago, luol deng too.... and he's still learning about the game some day in the future he'll be a starter and gets 35 min a game just not right now
It doesn't matter what Ben Gordon wants, the Bulls will own his Bird Rights and can out pay anyone for him. The article is a little misleading, Gordon wants more minutes. He needs to earn those added minutes by playing beyond Skiles' expectations. I really doubt Gordon wants out or even asked for more minutes, sounds more like talk from his agent or "people" more than anything else.
If Gordon leaves the Bulls are screwed there goes the bench scorer, and future franchise player. But I doubt that happening so I think they're still good.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Buckets:</div><div class="quote_post">If Gordon leaves the Bulls are screwed there goes the bench scorer, and future franchise player. But I doubt that happening so I think they're still good.</div> until we get LeBron. lol. That other ridiculous rumor I read once.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting shapecity:</div><div class="quote_post">Gordon wants more minutes. The Bulls are run a lot like Hubie's Grizzlies were (or even like the Spurs' current guard situation), the rely on rotation of their guards (Gordon, Duhon, Hinrich) and forwards. Gordon's minutes came mostly in the fourth quarter last year, so the league now sees him as a fourth quarter player. It has nothing to do with Skiles expectations, in fact Skiles must trust Gordon quite a bit if he is always allowing such a young player to close games in crunch time. I'm sure that Michael Finley, Brent Barry, and even Udrih would like more minutes. Both Barry and Finley were great with their former teams, but no matter how much they surpass Pops' expectations they won't be getting more minutes. You could argue that Gordon is better than Duhon, or even Hinrich, but a rotation allows for fresh legs and defensive confusion.
Gordon wanted more minutes. Bulls tried to give him starter minutes but he struggled too much and they decided to put him on the bench. Why would he want a trade when they gave him a chance and he didn't prove he could be a starter.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Buckets:</div><div class="quote_post">If Gordon leaves the Bulls are screwed there goes the bench scorer, and future franchise player. This is probably just the media stirring things up. I highly doubt he's in any hurry to leave the windy city, so I really don't buy into any of this.
I think some problems really are forming. I know he thinks he's the best pg in the team and he shouldnt be backing up guys like Hinrich or Duhon. Gordon might be out of chicago soon if they dont give him some more minutes. Gordon isnt going 2 waste his career on the bench. Its like an Al Harrington type situation. But 1st Gordon has to prove he can start and affect the game when he's in it.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting I-Miss-MJ:</div><div class="quote_post">isnt Gordon a Shooting Gaurd?</div> Gordon is a off guard, but for the most part he is a shooting guard. He does not really have the instinct of a point guard. He played shooting guard in college and in high school. Every time they have experimented with him as a starter so far this season it has been as a shooting guard. The only times he really plays point is when he comes in at it for a small amount of time while Duhon and Hinrich rest. He can play both positions to a certain pomposity though.
Gordon is first and foremost a two guard. He's got a scorers mentality that really makes him that way as well. Beyond that, as BKS said, he doesn't have the mentality to be a point. He also lacks the court vision you need as a point guard, he still needs to work on getting the ball to open teammates, and he still turns the ball over too much. Until he can work all those issues out, he's going to be a two, not a point.
I love the bulls and the current roster they have, but I have to believe that down the road one of hinrich, duhon, or gordon is going to have to go. We need to bring in a big shooting gaurd eventually and there just won't be enough minutes left around. I think gordon would give us more trade value and with his inconsistency so far as well as inability to get his shot off, i'd prefer to keep the other two over him.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Tuesday was another eventful day in Ben Gordon?s basketball evolution. In the morning, ESPN reported that Gordon?s agent had been telling NBA teams his client is unhappy with the Bulls and wouldn?t mind being traded. Supposedly, Gordon didn?t appreciate not being a starter. When asked early in the day about the ESPN report, Gordon claimed to know nothing about it and indicated all was well. In the evening, during the Bulls? 85-76 victory, Gordon proceeded to look at times like he was getting too much playing time. Over the course of 20 minutes, 26 seconds, Gordon scored 7 points on 2-of-8 shooting. He was horrible in the first half, a bit better in the second half and on balance OK at best. In between morning and evening there was time to ponder Gordon?s place in the NBA. ?Ben is a very unique player,? Bulls coach Scott Skiles said. ?He?s one of the most unique I?ve ever seen.? Skiles meant that in a good way because as unique as Gordon is, essentially on offense, he poses matchup problems for the opposition. At the same time, Gordon?s uniqueness can be maddening. If he isn?t shooting well, which he hasn?t been, the Bulls have the matchup problem.</div> <div align="center"> Daily Herald</div> Thank God...
Gordon's been rather humble about his position on the team and him asking for my PT when he's already shown he can't quite handle it yet doesn't add up. He'll be around for awhile and I think by next season he'll have enough leg under him to be a starter.
ben gordan dunks in this one (boston). its a rare thing and i just wanted everyone to go to nba.com to see the highlights. p.s. it wasnt a break away.
