<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">One hot rumor more than a year ago was that Utah power forward Carlos Boozer was going to the Lakers. Boozer was criticized last season by team owner Larry Miller, who had signed him to a $68 million deal. He hasn't played this season because of a hamstring injury. Last week, there was a note in the Los Angeles Times that Boozer had purchased a 5,600 square-foot home with 10 bedrooms and 13 bathrooms, a guest house, elevator, racquetball court and tennis court in L.A. for $8.6 million. Could something be up

I say go for it if your LA. Boozer is what we need downlow and he's a good defender. The only question is when is he going to stay healthy?

Why would anyone need 13 bathrooms in their home?

I wouldn't put much stock into this new bit of news. A lot of the players have homes in the LA area, but it doesn't mean they are going to be traded to that particular city. The Jazz got off to a hot start, but the injuries have haunted them again. Now if we read Carlos Boozer put his home in Utah on sale, it would be a stronger indicator.

I don't mind landing Boozer, but it would depend on what the Lakers had to give up. If it's just some expiring contracts then I make the deal. I'd be a little more hesistant if the Lakers had to trade Odom straight up for Boozer. I'm tired of Lamar, but Boozer's health is a major concern.

I disagree w/ you all. Boozer is a very good player and, from what I understand, a very good human being also. It's just that he was unfortunate to play for teams he didn't wish to play for. Anyway, any good PF is good news if there's talk of them going to the Lakers. I want a defensive PF who can bash inside on LA, and Kwame Brown OFF!

Don't pull this trade. We don't need another talented player that isn't "hungry" to win. Lamar fills that billing for us lol.

I love Boozers game and the idea of having a real post present to go along with Kobe and Lamar is exciting- I'm just not sure why bringing Boozer in would make any dramatic changes in the Lakers fortunes.

Remember- they are building for the future (short term/long term) to win Titles....a core of Boozer, Odom and Bryant....I just don't see winning any titles. Unless Bryant can make them both all stars....could he?

well, if they trade for boozer, i think that pretty much means that odom is a goner. who else do we have that we will give up and that utah wants? kwame brown? chris mihm? i dont think so.

Expiring contracts might interest them, Slava, George, McKie, Profit...etc.

Thinking it over, I actually wouldn't want Odom and Boozer because all our caproom would be tied up in Kobe-Odom-Boozer. Those three players are not good enough to win a championship. Swapping Odom for Boozer would be a wash for the Lakers. You'd gain in some areas, but lose out in others. I'd rather get two or three solid players for Odom.

lose what? nothing against odom or anything, but this season he has just plainly sucked. his shot has been off when he shoots, and that's just when because in most games, he barely shoots at all. i has been proven again and again that he cant play well with kobe, and i thought he would because phil might make the two work along, but so far, it has pretty much been a disaster. when kobe's on the floor, odom cant play, period. the two have no chemistry together. the only times that odom will play well is when kobe is gone or not playing. i think we should do an odom for boozer trade because this mean that we will have more pressence in the paint. with boozer, we know we will get at least 10 rebounds a game, and he can score in the paint. i know the season is still young, but i fail to see an odom and kobe duo working in the future. i say just give these guys until the trade deadline to work things out. if they cant, odom needs to go.

Well you lose the primary initiator on offense and another ballhandler on the court for the Lakers. Also Odom is versatile enough to play 3 positions, while Boozer can only play one. Then you have to take into account Odom's Triangle experience. He's been in the system for close to a year now, and Boozer has zero experience. The Lakers would have to start at square one with Boozer, and even though Odom is struggling, at least he has some idea of how it all works.
