what a retard...he makes no sense. if babs wanted wright, HE WOULD HAVE TAKEN HIM. why'd he take villa if he wanted another player. what a moron, he's clearly talking out of his ass...further more, he IS an ass, so its a good fit and anyone who watched the draft knows that he was talking as if charlie was a BAD PICK. he did more then just question his work eithic...he was talkin all kind of ish. he's just too arrogant to ever say that he COULD have been wrong. i dont know anyone who actually likes this dick
last year rafael araujo or whatever his last name is... was a huuuuuuuuuge bust for the raptors what pick was he 10th? or was it 8th? bosh was the best pick for the raptors so far...

Smith so take from that what you will. Trust me, I find SAS just as annoying as any one of you, but I think that there could be some truth behind what he is saying. This doesn't seem like something that you would just make up in order to make yourself look good. And if there was any truth to this.... then I would lose all faith in Babcock (not that I had any to begin with)....

They wanted a physical center who could take some attention off of bosh and allow bosh to play his true position of pf. This was a good idea but unfortunetely araujo's draft wasn't exactly stocked w/ big physical cneters. But the need to find a true center is why i was upset that the raptors were never able to land magloire
Vince was the best pick, but Bosh is the best pick on the current roster... 20/10 guys are hard to find... I believe only Duncan/KG/JO/Brand are 20/10...Wow and hes only 21!
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting G-UNIT:</div><div class="quote_post">Vince was the best pick, but Bosh is the best pick on the current roster... 20/10 guys are hard to find... Brand has been a career 20-10 guy, and other than this year, he stands no chance of being an allstar WHY? because clippers are good this year. My take is that doesn't matter if bosh is 20-10 or 25-15, he won't be considered an allstar player as long as toronto stays in the bottom (don't get me wrong, i think bosh is good, but it's generally believed that everybody can look better than they should be when they play for an awful team).
The only reason the raptors drafted Jamison was because GS wanted to make sure they got jamison, and the raptors drafted right ahead of them...so they made a deal with the raptors, i think cash...The raptors always wanted vince...but they had their poker face on and were able to make that deal with GS... I could be wrong though...
Stephen A. Smith is a character who plays his part well on ESPN. That part would be the loud obnoxious brat who doesn't like to be wrong or called out on his lack of basketball expertise. When you know that much about him, his comments don't seem so bad afterall.

Toronto drafted jamison for the sole reason get a little extra from GS cause they knew GS wanted jamison. It's like penny and cwebb that was another draft day trade but you still associate them w/ the magic and warriors respectably

Charlie is good, but on the defence point of view (toughness+rebounding), i still would have drafted granger Afterall, if you look at toronto's losses, 80% of them aren't offence, it's the defence they messed up
Odd comments from SAS, the Raptors probably could have ended up with both Wright and CV with their draft positions. CV was projected to be a late 1st round pick because he had poor showings in his workouts. A couple of GMs actually walked out on him during workouts because he wasn't giving any effort. Antoine Wright was getting a lot of hype in his workouts and the pre-draft camp. He was projected to go as high as #6, but slipped, which could indicate teams used him as a smokescreen. It is early, but I think CV is playing very well and is justifying his draft position up to this point. Even SAS should concede to that.
Even if SAS is wrong he isn't going to do admit it. He is going to change his opinion little by little but still say there is <u>these</u> kind of problems with the player.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">A couple of GMs actually walked out on him during workouts because he wasn't giving any effort</div> Hmmm, I don't remember hearing about this, maybe it motivated him to do better lol, cause that's pretty harsh. <div class="quote_poster">Quoting PlaTsanity:</div><div class="quote_post">i think wright's a tremendous athelete..i just wish that he could get more minutes from the Nets--he cant really showcase his talent yet while being behind carter and RJ he was my third faviourate to be picked at 16 (after Granger and Graham)</div> WHat do you mean by tremendous athlete? He's very athletic, or that he's a good player, because he's not athletic, his athleticism looks better than it is because he's 6'7, but compared to NBA swingmen, he's actually a bad athlete. Doesn't jump high, isn't that quick or fast, and he's not strong either.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Villanueva's workout, on the other hand, was a disaster. The minute Ebi ended his workout and Villanueva stepped on the floor, roughly half the NBA people in the gym got up and walked out. If that isn't a message to Villanueva to go back to school, I don't know what is. Ironically, Villanueva actually looked much more polished than Ebi. He shot the ball well, showed nice athleticism on several drills, and, at 6-foot-11, he has some skills that are intriguing. But two related things poisoned the well. Villanueva worked at less than half speed. I'm not sure he even broke a sweat. His play, on a few occasions, bordered on lackadaisical. Midway through the workout, there were less than 50 people left in the gym. What's the problem? "Bad attitude," one NBA GM said. "Terrible attitude," another NBA coach said. An international scout was furious that he even wasted his time. "Why come to a job interview and goof around?" he said. "I don't understand it. Neither of these kids put on a real workout today. If you want to see someone really work for their bread, come with me ..." </div> This was written to Insider from UConn's head coach, Jim Calhoun. This was from the first time he declared for the draft, but went back to school. I'm trying to find the article about when it happened this past draft.
