Every other team on this forum has got some ridiculous KG rumour going, so I think its' about time we got one too. Maybe it'll take my mind off of our terrible record. Soo, idunno: KG + Wally for Jalen + MoPete + Villanueva? Obviously it doesn't work out, but whatever. Any good ones?
Bosh isn't Garnett, he's a different type of player. He's not the defender or passer KG is, and you have to remember KG was a starting SF his first 3 years in the league with the 20-9 Googs playing PF for their team. Bosh can't play SF. I don't think we have anything they want, and they definately won't give KG and Wally to get basically nothing in comparison.
Thats true. I guess a more interesting and less ridiculous question is: If you had the chance to, would you trade Bosh for Garnett? Bosh is younger, team is built to contend in his prime, but probably won't be as great as KG and we have the worry about resigning him eventually. Garnett is more talented, is signed for a while, gives us a chance for the playoffs now, but is older, and might not enjoy playing with the inexperience.
i dont know how the economics might work out... but i dont want KG we got our own KG. sure having two towers is great but KG is getting older, and all. i'd much rather shop for the guys around KG Toronto Trade Breakdown Outgoing Loren Woods 7-2 C from Arizona 3.9 ppg, 4.9 rpg, 0.4 apg in 15.8 minutes Morris Peterson 6-7 SG from Michigan State 12.6 ppg, 4.2 rpg, 2.1 apg in 30.6 minutes Jalen Rose 6-8 SG from Michigan 18.5 ppg, 3.4 rpg, 2.6 apg in 33.5 minutes Incoming Richie Frahm 6-5 SG from Gonzaga 3.8 ppg, 1.4 rpg, 0.7 apg in 11.6 minutes Michael Olowokandi 7-0 C from Pacific 5.9 ppg, 5.2 rpg, 0.5 apg in 19.6 minutes Wally Szczerbiak 6-7 SF from Miami-OH 15.5 ppg, 3.7 rpg, 2.4 apg in 31.6 minutes Change in team outlook: -9.8 ppg, -2.2 rpg, and -1.5 apg. Successful Scenario Due to Toronto and Minnesota being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. Toronto and Minnesota had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

QUOTE] never ever ever would i want that trade to go through we are a rebuilding team and Wally's contract is too big for us to accept i say we keep Rose (his contract expires in 2 years), and i do not have anything againist Mo-Pete either
? I thought the point of KG wanted to be traded is to win.... so even joking about him going to Toronto......
I think Bosh will eventually be so much better than KG, so no...I'd rather keep Jalen because he's a good guy and doesn't really moan or complain too many times or even at all, plus once his contract expires...that's when we are going to have that new wicked team, with maybe Ukic and that Slokar dude and Bosh will be solid, as well as Calderon and Chawlay V...we'll have a good team.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">I think Bosh will eventually be so much better than KG</div> So much better than KG? Do you know what kinda of player is "so much better than KG"? Duncan is the best player in the league, and beats KG by just a little, if you're saying Bosh will be so much better then he's going to be as good as someone like a prime Shaq.
Any team that can manage to land KG without giving up their best player will become instant contenders, so I don't think KG would mind it if he somehow ended up in Toronto, with Bosh as his young understudy. However, to pick up KG, we'll most likely have to take on Wally's contract, and while he's a good scorer, there's not much he could do. What about something like KG/Sczerbiak for Rose/Villanueva/Graham/2 picks? It doesn't seem like the best KG can get for Minnesota but they can build around Villanueva, if they so choose to.
The Raptors really don't have anything Minnesota wants. They can't give Minnesota more talent, nor can they give them any sort of cap relief, so this probably won't happen.
we can give them draft picks and young players though, jsut imagine this team: Calderon Graham Sczerbiak Bosh KG that would be a very good team for sure
i was just hoping babcock could pull this off! and hopefully he could if he'd throw in some draft picks and all.... sry to bring this up, but if there is a possibility to keep our core together and get the beast in Garnett to tag along side bosh and our core! what about the possibilities! Wow, that's a big trade but it's not plausible IMO. Essentially, the trade is Rose and Peterson for Garnett and Sczerbiak. None of the guys Toronto gives up are players whom a team can build around. I'm sure that if Minnesota were to trade Garnett, they'd either want a guy to focus around, or lots of cap relief.
we would throw in future considerations I d'nno if KG is being shopped, but if he is why not give it a shot, any GM would do that right, or any sane person????
