Charlotte

Sean May - Sore right knee (unlikely)

Brief Notes:

* There is absolutely no reason why Seattle should drop this. They are at home, playing a team that not only has a worse record than them, but is coming off an 18-point loss to Sacramento the previous night. With starters Brevin Knight and Gerald Wallace not 100%, if there was ever a fixture for Weiss' men to get some confidence back, this is it. That and the fact the red-hot Cavaliers are next on the agenda and we don't want to match the 'Cats at 5-10.

* Rashard Lewis has been the big offensive weapon of late, but with Kareem Rush being given the job on Ray Allen, it is time for the #34 to turn in a vintage offensive performance after a disappointing showing against New Orleans where he was outplayed by JR Smith. It would also be a good time for Luke Ridnour to, oh I don't know, DO SOMETHING.

* This is my return to previews after the poopy computer company finally returned my laptop. Can I spark a win? I'm fairly confident, although I'll let you all form your own opinions.

Random Family Guy Quote:

Brian: Ugh, I can't beileve you're serving a three year sentance, it seems so harsh.
Lois: Well, the only upside is that it's given me time to think about why I ended up in here. I guess I was stealing because I was so sick of the same old routine. I felt like I had a void in my life, like, like, there was a secret hole in me...
Quagmire: Oh God!
Lois:...and I was trying to fill that hole with all kinds of expensive objects, and things...
Quagmire: Oh God!!!
Lois: ...and I felt wonderful with all those things filling that hole.
Quagmire: Oh God!!!!!!
Lois: I did this to myself, so I'm just gonna have to lay back and let the penal system teach me a lesson.
Quagmire: That one is also sexual.

I'm confident that your return will spark a win also.

What disturbs me however, is that in your absence you have missed that Brunson is out two months and that November has only 30 days.

Hahaha, nothing gets past you fam.

The first part was a typo and I pretty much skimmed over the injuries - I knew Brunson was out 6-8 weeks, but didn't notice he was listed as probable.

That one is also sexual.

An opponent with a worse record, at home, the enemy with 2 ailing starters....thats just the kind of recipe that usually leads to a Sonics loss. I'll stay optimistic though, and predict a win for the hometown boys tonight.

Can we please stop someone sometime soon - the reoccuring theme of allowing our opponents to shoot +50% is giving me an ulcer. Bob's constant juggling of the lineup isn't helping the symptoms either.

Only up 5 here in the 3rd. Pretty sad defense again, the hapless 'Cats are shooting 50% and their best players (Wallace and Okafor) are getting wide open looks.

Ridnour still can't hit a shot.

^ So true, Ridnour is getting wide open shots and he isnt knocking them down..Atleast we got the win, Im not really satisfied with this win tho. Cavs and Pacers coming to town this week, doesnt look good for Seattle.

I didn't see the game, were we just hitting a lot of jump shots or was the offense actually competent?

Only saw half of the 4th quarter when we were well ahead. Nice to see Lew doing something on the boards. He may be All-Star worthy yet again but probably won't make it without the glow of last season's success.

A final win! 6-8...we need to pick up our slacks (i.e. defense! and offensive as well...)...

Your probably right, but I think he's got a chance as long as we are hanging around .500. I think he's definately more dominant offensively this season than he was last year.

Here is his competition:

Garnett - I know, but the starters will be Garnett/Duncan/Ming
McGrady - SG or SF??? probably lumped in with the forwards
Carmelo - big competition
Stojakovic - big competition
Marion - big competition
Odom - probably beats him out
Kirelenko - probably beats him out
Howard - probably beats him out

It will be tough for him to beat out Carmelo/Peja/Marion if those teams are thumping us in the standings - I think what hurts his chances the most though this year is if the Clipps continue to play pretty well, you would think Elton Brand will finally get a chance to play in an allstar game. Them being such bottom dwellers opened up a forward spot for the coaches in the past.

Cross your fingers, it would be neat to see him make it again.

At the moment the Clips are us last season, and Brand looks like the guy who will benefit from that. Ray will make it given the lack of guards in the West, and if we're not doing too great I can't see us getting two players in.

Peja has been up and down just like the Kings, AK, Melo and Josh Howard injured while Rashard has been as good as Odom.

Pau Gasol has to be getting big consideration.
