Mixing our metaphors are we Johnathan? Not that U2's popular song "She Moves In Mysterious Ways" is a metaphor, just a stupid pop song.

Just playing, but I hope we don't have to see a guy like this, a team player, retire prematurely while his degenerate teammate Ron Artest gets to continue his whopper of a career, and roll over everyone in the process. I guess god moves in mysterious ways.

Wow, what a sad thing to hear. Bender had a whole lot of talent before him, but injuries just stopped him from ever getting the fullest of it. Seven footer who could shoot the ball, jump with the best of them, run the break, and beat defenders off the dribble. Although he hasn't been a key contributor with the team for the past few seasons, there's no doubt that Bender would play a key part this season if injuries didn't get in the way.

what a waste but hey whos to say that he wont return some years from now.he been trying so hard to get back every year that he hasent let his knee heal. but now with no pressure he has all the time in the world to let his knee get completely better.maybe 3/4 years from now we'll here that JB is trying out for the pacers in summer league. he'll still only be 28.

This is pretty sad. Bender has a ton of talent but hes been held back by injuries, now they are threatening his carreer. I hope the best for him in whatever he decides to do.

Bender could have made a big name for himself if not for injuries which has been already mentioned. Big man that could work it in the post, give some deph from beyond the arch and not a bad defender either. Sad about his early retirement.

Very sad to here considering that he had tons of potential...I would have loved to have seen him play at 100%...

Bender has so much talent I love this guy but its just sad to see what injuries can do to a player hope for all the best for Bender in whatever he does.
