He said he needs to be involved in the game more than just sitting on the arc and shooting threes. Montgomery was also quoted saying the same thing but that is rarely the case. It's obvious Dunleavy is liked on the team but it doesn't seem like the team has any confidence in him. I can't blame them since Murphy and Richardson have been consistent. If we get Dunleavy on track we will be a top 5 team in the western conference. I have no confidence that the clips will keep their division lead.

I'm sure we can put the ball in Dunleavy's hands more if he can just get to the rim like the others are doing. The guy seems to shy away from contact, he won't get down low in the post, he rarely drives either because he can't (too slow) or he won't take the risk (turnover or foul call) or he's afraid of getting bopped. It sounds like excuses to me. If he wants more involvement on offense he should go to the bench or something. Plus, the guy talks a lot but he doesn't deliver a whole lot. I don't know if it's the team or what, but he needs to go find that team that is the right fit for him. BTW he doesn't talk a lot, but when he does I think it's just "talk".

He does have some nice moves off the ball but can he finish?

Do you have the actual quote?

    Here's what I did find.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">"We’ll see if the slump is over. I play it game by game. Tonight the shots went down and that’s just the way it is. I’m trying to get more involved and things are getting better. The team is doing well—so I’m pleased." "We’ll see if the balance is shifting. It’s very early and we have to play these guys three more times. We got them tonight and we’ll see what happens the rest of the way. We feel really good about the way we’re playing."
"This is where we want to be. This is a great start and hopefully we’ll keep it up."

So Dunleavy isn't whining or anything and we want the guy to get more involved. I think he just wants to help the team by being consistent and open up the rest of his dynamic game.

Since he's not the fastest guy on the floor, he needs to use his smarts and his shot touch. If defenders are respecting him they'll start pressuring him more and force other defenders to help out if he's pump faking and stepping around defenders. The guy can drive, pass, shoot so he's got some value. He's not explosive, but he does have the advantage of making the first move and going either left or right. When he's attacking the basket in a variety of ways and playing defense, he'll start making others better. Until then, he's a disappearing act and a quiet role player.

He wasn't quiet last night, but it's not the first time he does something good and then disappears for 5 or 10 games or so.

I think Dun deserves huge credit for beating the Kings last night, but he's still a player that needs to prove a lot of things. It's either you believe or you don't. What happens if Baron Davis goes down or Richardson goes down? Will Dunleavy be as good in terms of production?

Yes, Dunleavy will become MVP of the league, take the W's to the promise land, and then be traded for Austin Croshere.

Dude, of course I know the answer is no. Dunleavy is such a role player.

sounds to me like he's listening to advice from the coaching staff, not whining. I heard Ellie say almost the same exact thing before I left for India but I couldn't dig up the quote. That short break where they got an opportunity to practice helped. I think this short break should have the team clicking until the all-star break.

BTW, slept in my own bed last night for the first time, a very underrated experience [IMG]!

BTW anyone notice the biggest games Dunleavy's had, he's taken the midrange shot before venturing out further?
