Good stuff. I forgot about the "foul to give" comment.

It usually goes something like this:

"Jim, do you think the Warriors will foul in this situation?"
"Bob, fouling them would eliminate the chance of them tying the game, so if it was me, I would foul...but, I have a feeling they're just going to play it out."

All of the things that all of you say Jim and Bob say are true. However, watching the games on NBA League Pass there are many times when the games are broadcast using the opposing teams announcers. I am always taken back by those announcers' lack of knowledge of the Warriors. I think that Jim and Bob might be overly enthusiastic but I think they are among one of the better TV teams that does their homework.

Well for one thing they are very fair I think. When a call goes the Warriors way and it was a bad call, they'll say that it was a bad call. And even in replays they'll find a foul/violation against the Warriors comitted but didn't get called for and tell the viewers. Just they're too biased about Dunleavy...

Yes, I would agree that Jim and Bob are actually one of the better pair of broadcasters I have seen/heard. They have to be biased and hopeful for the W's as they are employed by the W's, but they do a very good job of objectifying a sitaution.

You can't really blame their enthuisiasm this year...it's been 10+ years of losing and now they actually are broadcasting a winning team.

The Bay Area has some good broadcasters all around, especially the SF Giants.

 

Yeah, watching the league pass gives you an idea that Fitz and Barnett are quality broadcasters in the nation. It's just that Bay Area always produced excellent broadcasters, so they don't look so good compare to other ones in Bay Area...

 

I am probably one of the biggest Barnett fans on this board. Yes, he promotes Dunleavy too much. But I think that has more to do with Dunleavy being a Barnett type of player. Barnett and I have pretty similar views on what good basketball is.

It's the team over the individual, making the right pass, doing all the little things that show up in the box score, and not thumping your chest every time you score.
