It's good he left, you got a triple double threat Boris Diaw and 2, I repeat 2 1st round picks. And considering how the Hawks are doing, those will be very high 1st round picks. Can't believe Joe Johnson is making that much money, he's getting paid more than Jason Richardson who will become an all star this year I hope. While this will be an easy win no doubt, I look foward to watching the Warriors play the Suns weds. Good luck (doubt they need any) on this game. BTW, it says your fav player is Joe Johnson...
How long are the picks protected for? I know it's at least three years, so if the Suns remain a lottery pick for a while, that's some nice draft picks. If not, it's still high first rounders, cause at best in the near future they're a 7th or 8th seed. Well, they will get some nice rookies the next 2 years, so who knows...
Hawks management = stupid. Other than making a stupid trade (which I think was good for you guys), they passed on Chris Paul... which would've made the Hawks so much more better than they are now.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting AnimeFANatic:</div><div class="quote_post"> BTW, it says your fav player is Joe Johnson...</div> Oops, well I haven't been on for a while. I know it's good that he left. Diaw may end up being even better, plus we get those picks. It's just the way he left that pisses me off. Suns destroyed the Hawks and JJ was booed every time he touched the ball. Every single Suns player got to play. I really like this Suns team though. I think they can be a championship-winning team once Barbosa and Amare both return. Their team is so deep and they haven't let any team score over 100 points on them in the past 7 or 8 games.
I agree. This is by far the deepest Suns team I've seen in the 12 years I've been a fan. There's a few players off the Suns bench making a case for 6th man or Most Improved (i.e. Boris Diaw, Eddie House, Leandro Barbosa). Considering two really good players are injured and we still have the longest active win streak, I see an even better team this year than last. It doesn't have the superstar "wow" factor, but the entire team contributes, and they're starting to really mesh, and much better than last years team. Last year, as soon as Nash left the game, they fell apart. This year, Diaw and House can each come in and let Nash rest, and they know how to run the offense. It's really exciting watching them get better every game, especially seing Shawn Marion develop into that legitimate superstar that's starting to get the credit and respect he's deserved for many years.

Warriors seemed to have gotten their stuff together lately and the same with the Suns. See you guys weds
The first of the 2 picks is from Atlanta. It's lottery protected in 2006 and top 3 protected in 2007. The other pick, I believe, is a Lakers' pick that is stupid complicated. It's top 10 protected in 2006, or top 5 protected from 2007-2010, and goes to Boston. Then the lower of that pick and Boston's pick in whichever year they get the Lakers' pick goes to Phoenix by way of Atlanta. That's how I understand it anyway. P.S. *points and laughs at Joe Johnson*
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting CoryMania:</div><div class="quote_post">I can't believe that Suns fans booed Joe last night...</div> Well, it sure isn't like he didn't earn it. He sticks around and they were automatic contenders for a championship, and he knew it. That was only step one in a series of things that looked like they were going wrong. Knowing what we know now, it's clear that both teams are better off in the process, so who's really complaining? I'm not so sad Joe's gone, thanks largely to Boris Diaw, who has been stellar.

We have already spent $3 million on James Jones, and hopefully we will pick up a quality player with the other $3 million. So that is Boris Diaw, two (protected) 1st round picks, and a $6 million trade exception (James Jones, ?) for Joe Johnson. Also the Suns saved a TON of money long term and can sign additional FAs in the future. If Bryan Colangelo would have signed JJ, then we would have been cap-strapped for years to come. As I have stated on numerous occasions, I LOVED JJ in Phoenix. He was a great performer who was not only a great all around player, but seemed to be a great teammate as well. The Hawks made a horrible decision in thinking JJ could become a playmaking PG in the mold of Magic Johnson. They now have 999 swingmen, and no true PG. They passed on Chris Paul for Marvin Williams! Sure they have intriguing prospects, but can a team of Small forwards, and Shooting guards really become contenders?! The Hawks were also wrong in thinking that JJ was a franchise player. He is an excellent second or third option, but CANNOT carry a team. I really understand after this trade why the Hawks are the least successful teams in the league, and why the Suns are an elite team. Lastly I hope JJ enjoys his money. He could have made the same amount of money in Phoenix, and actually won more then 25 games a year. There has been much speculation to why he left. Some say he was egotistical and wanted to be the face of a franchise, some say he wanted to be closer to home. Whatever the reason he slapped millions of Suns fans in the face. There was no indication that he was unhappy in Phoenix. He told us he enjoyed Phoenix, and he was treated well by not only the fans but the organization. The sting has gone away now, and I now realize that the Suns may have gotten the better end of the deal. He deserved the boos from the crowd, and the harassment he received.

I'm still not sold on Mike D'Antoni, but I'm eating a lot of crow on that first comment. Even so, we may be a bit too much like Dallas and Sacramento of the last several years. I think this team comes back down to Earth when they start playing some road games, and I still think Steve Nash is having to do too much. I think they're still around .500 or just a bit better by March or so. I sure hope I'm wrong though. They look really good right now though. Great win tonight in the kind of game they don't want to play, and you don't expect them to win.
I don't see the need to constantly boo JJ. Sure I was disappointed and angry when he left, but he went where there was more money. Can't criticize a guy for that considering it is how we got our own MVP Just need to keep playing well, and keep our fingers crossed Amare can return in the latter stage of the season and unleash his pent up fury
