I think tonight's games are going to be good. With the Jimmy V Classic and then Bucknell looking to put a scare in Villanova, so tonight should be some good games [IMG]

I'm looking forward to the Leon Powe v. Marcus Slaughter match-up tonight. This would be the Cal's most impressive win of the season, and push their record to 6-1, and keep their current 5 game win streak alive. Cal has produced the Pac-10 player of the week in consecutive weeks now. DeVon Hardin won it last week, and Leon Powe received the honors this week.

I'll be watching the games at work for once tonight [IMG] I managed to snag a t.v from the Radio Shack inside the mall I work in, so I'll actually get to see some games for once!!! I'll be very interested to see the Villanova game. They were fantastic against Oklahoma, now let's see how they do agaisnt an upstart team that'll really be gunning for them away from their home court.

Shape, is the Cal game going to be on national t.v?

My eyes will be on Iowa vs UNI. The last two times the Hawks and Panthers met at the Unidome, the outcome has gone in UNI's favor. They also have a lot of good talent on that team as well. Ben Jacobson has lit Iowa up in the past years and is one of the top trey ball shooters in the MVC. Aside from him, they have Eric Coleman, who is having a great season as well so far, leading the team in scoring early in the year. Aside from those two, they also have Brooks McCowen, a former Mr. Basketball in Iowa and the states all time leading scorer (however, he has yet to make a large impact up there), and Eric Crawford. So, this team does have quite a bit of talent. It'll be interesting to see if Iowa goes in and has trouble like they have in years past. I'm hoping not, and I really hope to see Iowa come out with an easy victory. UNI has a good team, but if Iowa wants to prove they're top 10 material, they need to be able to beat the UNIs of this world.

I'll be watching UK-Georgia State at 8:00, then i'm going to watch the second half of Michigan State-BC.

BTW, I've see Michigan State beating Boston College easily tonight by at least 10+ points. I think Michigan State matches up well with BC and their offense will be too much for Boston College to handle. And you have to consider that Boston College hasn't played anyone yet while Michigan State has played one of the toughest schedules thus far...it will show that BC has played nobodies, too...

Wow, Nova is pretty much owning Bucknell, their streak is going to end if they don't stop Nova and get going.....26-11 Nova

Gators are struggling with Green, Brewer and Horford in foul trouble. Providence is starting to make a big run and getting back in it. Uf is still up 52-40 though. We need to get everyone back in in a couple of minutes.

Just got out of night class to see that Iowa is struggling. Grand, just as I expected. They've been outscored 16-7 in the half and squandered a 7 point halftime lead to now be down by 2. Hopefully they wake up and win this one, cause I'm tired of losing to UNI.

Damn Iowa. Why do they have so many problems with UNI? I realize UNI is a good team, but they're not on the same level as Iowa. Iowa has once again pulled a choke job against them, and are currently in OT as we speak. I hope to god they pull it out...

I just saw this, how the hell did St. Joe's comeback and beat Kansas by 3? Rush was draining everything from what I saw, and Kansas had it in control, just what happen?

You know, this is getting to be old to me. This is the third damn time in five years that we've lost to these guys. I'm really getting sick of this ****. UNI is by no means on the same level as Iowa. If they were, they'd be in the Big Ten instead of the MVC. I'm really curious if Iowa really gives a damn about this game. Each year, they come in lacksydasical and act as if the game is going to be a pushover, and because of that, they get beat. My question, where the hell was the offense tonight? If it wasn't for Brunner, this game would have been a blowout. He went for 26 tonight, the only other player in double figures was Horner with 10. That's another thing that's pissing me off about these Hawkeyes. This team has tons of talent and three great scorers, but why is it that two loom in the shadows and disappear, and than leave up to just one guy to do it all. It's been happening all year so far. If I'm right, there has yet to be a game this year where Haluska, Brunner, and Horner each scored in double figures. That need to change. They need to get their asses in gear and remember how the hell to play. I'm sick of seeing one player have to do it all for these guys, but that's what it's been like. That needs to change. Also, how do you expect to win when you get pounded on the boards the way they did. They got outrebounded 35 to 26. And once again, the only one asserting himself there was Brunner, no one else had more than 3. I'll excuse the fact that they had only 12 assists tonight because they had only 24 field goals, but even that should be higher than 12. And it looked like a regular game for the Hawks in TO land as well, once again having a high number, this time with 14. And my final complaint is the lack of FT shooting. Only 10 attempts the entire game, granted UNI only had 12. But, shooting just 10 FTs is definitely not a good thing. To say the least, this Hawkeye team has issues it needs to resolve before the Big Ten season starts. They need to cut down on TOs, the big three need to be on the same page each night, and they still need to get some more help from their role players. These guys really need to resolve these issues soon, otherwise they're going to find themselves on the losing end of a lot more games than what they should be (like this one)

Two major upsets last night with Iowa and Indiana losing. Michigan State also beat a team ranked higher than them soundly. The first half was ugly, but the teams both picked it up in the second half and MSU took a double digit lead and held onto it for most of the 2nd half. Too much Ager in the 2nd half, scoring 17 of his 22.

Horner partially tore his PCL last night and is going to be out 2 weeks, that's what the bottomline said on ESPN 2

Yea, that's a huge loss though. They lose their floor leader and one of their leading scorers. Iowa's going to have a tough time fighting through the next few weeks without him. I'm just hoping he's back in time for the Big Ten season, cause I read it could be as short as 2 weeks for a comeback, all the way up to 5 weeks.
