Morrison Slips About Draft Status?

Right there, in the middle of 10,000 screaming fans and a TV audience that stretched well beyond the state's borders, the 6-foot-8 junior informed his Huskies counterpart of something he's only vaguely addressed when quizzed about it by countless others.

Unless he was kidding or lying, Morrison appears to already have made up his mind about his basketball future, that he likely won't be using his final season of college eligibility in Spokane, that the ninth-ranked Zags better enjoy him while they can.

After practice Tuesday, Morrison denied that he was leaving early, saying only, "it was a compliment for Brandon because he'll be in the NBA draft."

Often there was a game within a game played out by the Huskies and Bulldogs in a rollicking Edmundson Pavilion. A verbal jab here, a wisecrack there. It was hardly anything obscene or disrespectful. It was competitors further spicing up a super-charged atmosphere. It was more bait than hook.

When Morrison was called for traveling, Roy enthusiastically signaled the infraction himself, his rolling hands not going unnoticed by the other side. When Roy dragged his pivot foot a short time later, the Zags' standout made sure his opponent saw him provide his own officiating gesture.</div>
