<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The Los Angeles Lakers may be casting an eye on the Toronto Raptors top star. In a comment that will surely raise eyebrows in the Raptors' front office, Lakers' coach Phil Jackson today suggested Chris Bosh is a guy who would look good in Hollywood. Speaking to reporters after the Lakers' shootaround to prepare for tonight's game against the Raptors at the Air Canada Centre, the veteran coach said his team hopes to create room under the salary cap "which will allow us to get into the free agent market soon and chase some talent again that would make this team really competitive."</div> LINK I was going to try to find some positive articles about the raps, this is the closet i could get. But seriously what could the raptors do to stop Bosh from leaving? they couldn't stop TMAC they couldn't stop vince how will it work out for Bosh? Bosh is probably LA's new #1 goal. they couldn't get yao or amare so their probably thinking Bosh is the next best thing.
^^ without giving into a trade the raptors could have bosh for 2 more seasons after this. Their advantage is that they can offer more money to give him a long term deal as well as an extra year. Bosh can walk but he still isn't allowed to for a few more years.
I think the more that CV31 and CB4 play together, the better the chemistry will be. If every fan can see already how special those two kids can be playing together, don't you think Bosh can see it too? Chris wants to win, period. If CB4 can see that the Raps can contend for a title one day with himself, CV31, Joey Graham, Jose Calderon, Roko Ukic and Pape Sow, next years 2 draft picks, and any free agents we get until 2006-2007. I think from what we've seen so far this year, not including the win loss ratio, this group of kids can be really really special. ....But, if we do lose CB4, then we do. We do have Charlie who can take the starting spot in a couple of years. No use worrying about it now, Chris is in a Raps uni for a couple of years still. A lot can happen in that time.
^^ i haven't followed raptors enough this year, is bosh capable of holding down center, or is it better to have cv at the 3?
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting babybulls:</div><div class="quote_post">^^ i haven't followed raptors enough this year, is bosh capable of holding down center, or is it better to have cv at the 3?</div> Bosh definately can play Centre depending on who he is matched up against. Generally though he plays much better at the 4 and that's where you'd want him if there was a choice
Even if the raps could offer Bosh more money, there are other factors then contract size that would motivate bosh to leave. I think alot of people have believed since Bosh got here that if the raps failed to make the playoffs during the remainder of Bosh's rookie contract he would probably go. The raps have a horrible record when it comes to keeping great players. I think you all know the list.
nooo way will bosh leave we can offer him wayy more money he's the face of our franchaise, and probably wont be if he goes to LAL however--it really would suck if he left..and he really could just look at the way Shaq left the magics

I understand that right now the Barneys look pathetic when you look solely at their record, but we are seeing progress and a light at the end of the tunnel -- Bosh will be key to that On top of that, the Raptors can offer him more money than anyone else Have fun.............
It's not like the Lakers are blowing anyone away. If CB wanted to go to a winner I think there are quite a few other teams he'd choose before the Lake show. They were in the lottery last year and could possibly miss the playoffs again. That and why would anyone choose to go to LA to play with Mr.30 shots per game. Odom has a similar game to Bosh and he has regressed as a player playing next to Kobe.
Sometimes the chance of playing with a player of kobe's magnitude is worth more than the Raps can offer.
Bosh is a walking double double and how many endorsements is he getting? he used to be part of converse but now they just focus on wade. even bonner has a deal with mr.sub. if bosh goes to the lakers the endorsements will be crazy. hell chris mihm has his own shoe!
The new CBA makes it close to impossible for a player to leave after their rookie contract. They are no longer unrestricted free agents, so their team can offer the most money because they can sign them an additional season. The current team also gets first crack at their player and most players and agents don't want to risk injury so they sign early. If you look at what the Hawks had to give up to sign Joe Johnson, you can imagine how much the Raptors would want for Bosh in a sign and trade. I don't the Lakers would have enough to get Bosh, and probably wouldn't want to pay the bounty the Raptors would want for him. The only chance this happens is if Bosh forces a deal and demands to be traded to the Lakers. What would give him the power to do this? If Bosh says he doesn't want to be a Raptor and only signs the 1 year extension, he would become an unrestricted free agent in 2008 and any team could pursue him without giving anything back to the Raptors. Since the Raptors would get nothing back, they'd be forced into making a trade. Why would he leave? Wants to win and doesn't like the direction Toronto is going. Can make up the money in endorsement deals by signing with the Lakers. Lower income tax playing in the U.S. Playing for arguably the best coach in the game, who just gave you a rare compliment. Playing for a franchise who will spend money to win a title.
u guys can have him, i want to watch him on national tv in the states choke in the last four minutes of the game. and if kobe gets on his case, he might actually cry- he did that in first year shape.
If he wants to win he sure as hell won't go to the Lakers. I could see him going to Cleveland, tho they probably wouldn't have the money to sign him, maybe Chicago??? The Cavs have Lebron and are in need of a PF, plus Lebron actually passes and tries to play within the team. Bosh is a team guy through and through so I agree he will go where he thinks he can win. Really all Phil was saying was what every other GM and coach in the league is thinking. Who wouldn't want Chris Bosh on their team???

ok guys cavs--cannot get bosh James will get the max and do you really expect to see a team of odom/bryant/bosh??? lakers wont have enough money bosh wont leave he's best off staying in TO and developing with CV/JC/JG
It's hard to say whether or not Bosh will leave. Well, no one really liked it in Canada anyway, its darned cold, and I'm sure Bosh is savoring the taste of victory. But you never know, I mean what motvitated Iverson to stay in Philly all these years? This means the Lakers are planning on dumping Kwame Brown. Haha losers. What kind of idiot gives a role player and starter (Caron Butler) for a unmotivated, undeveloped kid just labled as "high potential" (Kwame Brown)? Not to mention Kobe didn't like the trade too much either.
I think its all dependennt on this season, hesaid ithimself too. But I don't think its so much how we win, but our chemistry int he locker room. If he likes the team, we're set. I mean we've cleared alot of caproom, and if we make a run for maglorie or get any good free agents, I think Bosh will mos definitely resign wth us. Or atleast not the lakers.
