Q&A time with Corey Maggette <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">TSN: The Clippers are one of those teams with a history of something always going wrong. Is this year's team different? MAGGETTE: We still have a long way to go. We have a great sense to keep our focus this year. If we do that, we should be all right. TSN: If asked, would you play for the U.S. Olympic team, knowing there's a three-year commitment and your college coach, Mike Krzyzewski, is the head coach? MAGGETTE: Any position like that is something people should strive for. If I were chosen, it would be a great honor, especially with my old coach. TSN: Why has Sam Cassell been able to come in and quickly emerge as a leader? MAGGETTE: Sam and other veterans like Walter McCarty and Cuttino Mobley make a big difference. They bring that leadership every night and are able to tell us the right way and the wrong way to do things. That's something we never had in the past. TSN: Your fiance, Milli Martinez, played at Georgia Tech and is a point guard for the Puerto Rican national team. Can she take you in a game of H-O-R-S-E? MAGGETTE: She beats me once in a while. It's cool because she knows what you go through on the court. She goes through it, as well. If you have a bad day on the court, she knows not to talk to you. TSN: It looks like you've added a mid-range jumper. How is that going? MAGGETTE: My shooting in general -- long range or midrange -- has improved. That's something I work hard on in the offseason. TSN: Any difference yet in L.A. about the popularity of the Clippers rising compared to the Lakers? MAGGETTE: There's so much tradition with the Lakers. We can convert people by working hard, get wins and get the fans to appreciate the Clippers as well. </div> Source
