You know what he should be doing if he's too hurt to practice with the squad is go to the end of the gym by himself and shoot free throws all day. I just don't understand...his free throw shooting is awful. For an elite point guard to be shooting 60% from the line is pathetic. This goes for the rest of the W's too. If we can make 75% - 80% of our free throws, those games we lose by a close margin would be a lot different. Take the game against the Suns last night...we missed 10 FT's...we lost by 8 points. This is starting to worry me. Free throws are something a team shouldn't overlook and I haven't seen any improvement from the line...WTF!
Free throws are all mental. Doesn't matter what style you shoot it, some players think about it too much. If you think about it too much, you miss. It's especially hard to convert when your shots are adjusted because of all the contact or you've just been clocked real hard. I think it also helps to practice the shot form before you actually put the ball up. BTW, I like Brian Cardinal and Steve Nash's form, but Shawn Marion or Rick Barry's way of doing it is something to be admired. Barry underhands it at 90% accuracy and Shawn Marion chucks it from neck high with both hands like a mini-chest pass.
i agree, it's inexcusible for baron to shoot so poorly from the line. on another note...marion DOES have the ugliest shot in the league.
