The anticipated starting lineups are expected to be:

<font color=""Navy"">For the Nets

    Match Up to watch:

[IMG][IMG]
    Jason Kidd versus Allen Iverson

Both of these players are not so young any more, Kidd is two years older. But both will be in the basketball hall of fame when thier careers are over. Kidd will have to defend against Iverson's speed and Iverson will have to defend against Kidd's size. Both players are tempo-setters for thier respective teams, so this matchup is beyond athletecism. Both players are very centeral pieces of the offense for both teams, i.e. both are the main play makers. It will just be very nice to watch these two very competative guys compete.

Starters Comparison:The Sixers have semi-good bigman combination. Webber is too old to play defense, while Dalembert is particularly good at defense. Dalembert will be all over Krstic the entire game, while Webber will be defending someone closer to his own age (Robinson) part of the night. On offense the ball will go down to Webber with Cliff guarding him, while Krstic will defend Dalembert. These two positions should balance each other out. The Nets also match up quite well with the other three positions. Carter should be able to guard Iguodala without too much trouble because Iguodala seems to be a pass first type of player. Furthermore, Jefferson should be able to lockdown Korver as the guy can only shoot and not too much more. Iverson going to the be the tough one to guard for Kidd because of this speed. Overall the starting match up balances out.

Bench Comparison:John Salmons has done a phenomenal job off of the bench for the Sixers this year scoring-wise. Other Sixers' benchplayers have been inconsistent. Thier new bigman off of the bench, Shavlik Randolph has however been shown capable of coming in and grabbing some rebounds and scoring some points. The Nets have to counter with Mcinnis, Planninic, and Marc Jackson. Certainly on paper the Nets' bench is better, but they have not exatly been consistent this season. If its the Nets bench's night, then the Nets have a huge advantage.

<font color=""Navy"">Keys to the Game for the Nets:
    1. Stop Allen Iverson with only one man. This is going to be tough on Jason Kidd, but if he is able to succeed, then the Nets are assured a victory. So long as Kidd keeps Iverson at 20 points or lower, the Nets have a victory.

    2. The bench needs to show up, especially offensively. The Nets can really place dents in the Sixers when it comes to one bench out doing another bench.

    3. Have a consistent game from Robinson and Krstic. So long as these guys do not have a horrid game, the Nets are in good shape. The Sixers' bigmen cannot be underestimated.

    4. Jefferson and Carter need to take advantage when Korver is defending either of them.

<font color=""Brown"">Keys to the Game for the Sixers:
    1. Iverson needs to take advantage of this own speed in order to shake himself free from Jason Kidd for open shots.

    2. Webber needs to try to take advantage of is age over Robinson and really force Robinson to work hard.

    3. Korver needs to make three after three, after three.

    Prediction:
I am not going to say the Nets will win or the Sixers will win or by how much. I think that both teams are even enough to force an overtime. It will certainly be a competative game. The Nets certainly cannot take the Sixers lightly. Making this game even more equal is the fact that is both teams will be playing on the second game of a back-to-back.

I know it was a back to back game but a really dissappointing lose. We started off playing well but Korver and Iverson were too much for us. I really thought we would get a W again today but we just couldn't keep up. Kidd had 14 pts 9 assists and 6 rebs,Carter with 26 pts, Jefferson with 26 pts 11 rebs and 7 assists. I think we will bounce back for the next game.
Btw, that crossover by Iverson no Vaughn was nasty.

Can anyone who saw the game tell me who was guarding Korver; if anyone?

Like I said as a key for the Sixers:

Quote:

Korver needs to make three after three, after three.

    And he did.

It was a really disappoiting game defensivly. The Sixer shot over 60 percent...that is unacceptable.

There will be another back-to-back starting in Washington, ending with the Hornets next week. Two winable games, but which the Nets need to play hard in.

X, my bad on not re-opening the thread after the Cleveland game, serious family emergency on Saturady so I was not on online at all...something like that will not happen again from me. Once again my bad....

Everybody clowing Jacque Vaughn needs to take an unbaised look at the replay, AI got him yes....but he step on his foot while making his cross..so of course JV is going to stumble...AI pretty much trip him...anyway, Iverson had a spectacular night, credit goes to him...but for those saying Vaughn needs to retire, please far from it Vaughn is still a very solid contributor...an given the small minutes he has gotten from Coach Fanks this year, he has proven to be one of our most consistent contributing role players. Vaughn in my opinion is the best on-ball defender we have to contain point guards and small guards...and yes he is better on the ball defending small guards then Jason Kidd. AI just got the best of him

Anyway..with that being said AI's performance wasnt the killer, it was the shooting display of Kyle Kover that hurt Jersey, you can pretty much expect 30 to 40 points from AI anytime you matchup with the 6ers, no matter who you put on him...but to give Kover 25 on 10 of 11 from the flied was the back breaker.
