<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Whom he would pay to watch: Kobe [Bryant]. San Antonio as a team. They play team basketball and beat you with consistency. Cuttino Mobley. A hard worker who wants to win. Dwyane Wade. He brings a lot to the game. I like guys who play hard and not just on one end.

    - [Tracy] McGrady just scores; same with Ray Allen and Steve Francis.

    - I can watch [Allen] Iverson. I'm not as big a fan. You get tired of seeing one guy shoot the ball all the time. I'd rather watch Steve Nash, even though sometimes he dribbles too much.

    - [Dirk] Nowitzki, I don't like his game. If I could still play, I'd guard him every time. He plays one end of the court. You have to hide him on defense. When McGrady guarded him, he was done.

    - I like [Ron] Artest, though I'm not sure he can keep it up, very exciting, fundamentally sound. He just doesn't bring it from a mental standpoint.

    - Carmelo Anthony? The NBA kills some of these guys. Here's a guy who wants a maximum contract. What have the Denver Nuggets ever done? Have they won a division? Where are they this year?"

    - Kevin Garnett: "He really set the tone for self-destruction. He's very productive but unproductive. He gets you all the stats you want, but at the end of the day his points don't have an impact on [winning] the game. He plays with a lot of energy and a lot of enthusiasm, but in the last five minutes of the game he ain't the same player as in the first five."</div>

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Today's players: "Look at the travel. They have all these CDs. They're gone one day and they have a library of music. They're not thinking about basketball. We'd get on the plane and Phil would pop in a tape and we'd watch the game. See a shot or a move. Then we'd get up the next day and have a film session."</div>

He just said McGrady cant play defense but Said Dirk got shutdown when he was guarded by McGrady. Other than that I have to agree.

He would pay to watch Kobe, but says AI shoots to much. Like that really makes sense.

Yeah, like refusing to enter a playoff game when the coach didn't draw up a play for him. Never liked the dude. Always felt he was overrated. What did he do w/out Jordan?

I agree. I felt he always felt too big of a man cuz he has those rings. I wonder how many he would've won without #23.

What did Jordan win without him? Jordan is the greatest player of all time no doubt about it. Playing next to him for so many years was a blessing for Pippen I am sure, but at the same time it was a curse. Despite his own greatness on both the offense and defensive side of the ball. Despite being a NBA all first team defense selections for nearly a decade Pippen does not get the credit he deserves from a lot of people. The man won a All Star most valuable player, is ranked second all time in Bulls scoring, one of the NBA’s 50 greatest players, etc. Give me a break here what did he win without Jordan? He did not win anything without Jordan, but you have to remember he made the NBA post season 16 out of the 17 seasons he was in the league, including playoff appearances with Houston and the Trail Blazers. The only time he ever missed it was his final season with the Bulls which was more of a tribute thing than anything else considering he was injured much of the year.

Before Pippen came to Chicago, the Bulls lacked a second scorer on the offensive end they where dominated year after year in the playoffs by the Pistons and the Jordan Rules. Pippen changed that all for them. I doubt Jordan could have won six NBA titles, despite his greatness, without Pippen by his side. Scottie is one of the greatest players of all time, and during his stint in Chicago he had one of the most prolific careers of any NBA player in history, but unfortunately for him due to the fact he was playing along side a nearly immortal teammate his accomplishments where always a side note. I don’t care what anyone says Pippen deserves all the accolades he gets if not more.

exactly, and if you guys saw the halftime show with them retiring his number i think jerry or phil said to be a great star and take the "side-kick" role with our complaint and selfish and to always have been in the shadow of MJ is amazing

It actually does make sense. In the past Kobe has always had a better shooting percentage than AI. I think that is where Pip was coming from.

I wish Pip had made some comments about Paul Pierce, they have somewhat similar games.

Anyone that hates on Pippen doesn't even have the slightest clue of what he's talking about. You were all probably born in the late 80s or early 90s because if you actually watched Pippen in his prime, there is no way Pippen is "overrated". If anything, he is probably one of the most underrated star to ever play in the NBA.

The man was a SICK lockdown defender (think Artest, not as physical, not headcase, but just as good if not a better defender), he is the prototype to all modern SF today in the NBA (player that can play both ends), smart player, unselfish, knows his role, smooth, and mad talented on offense too. Watch his highlights or games first before you come to any conclusions about him please.

By the way, Jordan would never have won those rings without Pippen and vice versa. That's how good Pippen was.

Some of Scottie's views are really bad but hey he won 6 NBA titles, was a 7 time all-star. You name It, he did It all. He can say whatever the hell he wants. Not like any of the guys he talked about can reply and bag on his game.

Just because he said he had a good defensive night, I doubt he was talking about him being a consistant defender. Defense & McGrady isnt said much in the same sentance.
