Iowa (7-3), playing without injured point guard Jeff Horner, lost to Iowa State (6-2) for the third time in four games. The Cyclones forced the Hawkeyes into 20 turnovers, including five by Horner's replacement, Tony Freeman.</div> Full Story
Wow Iowa's second loss in four days to an unranked team. Don't be shocked if Iowa becomes unranked with another loss here and there...

First of all, they're playing without Jeff Horner. Second of all, their losses have come to good teams. Northern Iowa may not be ranked, but they're an above average ball club, and any year they play Iowa it's hard to say who will win. It doesn't matter if Iowa is #1 in the nation and Northern Iowa is 0-10. Every year they'll play them close because it's a rivalry game that means a lot to the players. The Iowa State loss was pretty ugly, but like I said earlier, they didn't have Horner. The Cyclones are also a very underrated ball club that should probably be ranked. Stinson and Blalock is one of the best backcourts in America.
Yeah, it's unfortunate that Iowa will probably be dropped from the top 25, because they really are a hell of a team when Brunner's on the floor. They just ran into a top 25 Iowa State at a bad time, and ISU capitalized on it. If Brunner was on the floor I could almost guarantee that Iowa would have won this game...
Well, Iowa's big win over Arizona is slipping into a small win as we speak (Arizona lost to Houston, trailing to St. Mary's). And the win over NC State was some of the ugliest basketball I've ever seen. On the other hand, Iowa's loss to NI wasn't too bad, it was in OT to a good team, and ISU is good as well, especially when Iowa doesn't have their starting PG. On the other hand, perhaps Ohio State and Iowa State will both be ranked now for their showdown next Saturday. Or at least one of the two!

Maybe you're thinking of Kentucky. The Hawkeyes also played #2 Texas really close, but as we saw today, Texas is a team with a lot of problems. I'm not too worried about Iowa though. They'll take a lot of bumps this season, but they'll be a great team in March.

It was MSU who beat Arizona, and Iowa beat UK. I'm actually a bit worried about Iowa. They've done this a lot in recent seasons, stumbling into the Big Ten and ending up a bubble team.
I agree that as far as Iowa is concerned-nothing to worry about. They will be there in march, as for ISU they are very underrated. I'm not looking forward to playing those guards in conference. I still have nightmares of stinson cutting to the basket for 3 point plays....I guess I'll get to see how much the offseason helped kirk.

Curtis Stinson and Will Blalock(sp?) are really a sensational guard tandam, that will definitly cause some havoc in the Big 12.
