oh well, i wish i would have been signed up during this debate. the mavs have the better team, record, and players. it will show as the season goes on. memphis just had a good start. they will probably win more than 50 games, but i see dallas winning close to 60. <font color="Red">No personal attacks, especially on the staff</font>
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Voodoo Child:</div><div class="quote_post">Actually, the game was in Dallas, so the Mavericks were flying home. The Grizzlies flew in as well. It's not like a few hours on a really lavish team plane is a detractor here. The only real advantage for any team in the game was that it was played on Dallas' home court. I can't believe you're downplaying the Custodian's importance. He's one of the top bench players in the NBA. What Cardinal does for us is extremely important. I'm not going to give him the label of an 8th man, because Memphis is a team that plays with a ten man rotation. Benching on Memphis is just as good as starting on a lot of teams. Having Cardinal on the bench is important for when Gasol is having off nights, like the one he had the other night. When we put Hakim Warrick into the game, Dirk murdered the kid. We could have really used Brian Cardinal. It would have helped Pau Gasol get back into the game more than anything else. Actually, when we beat you guys by twenty, you were only missing Stackhouse. Miller's role with the team is far more important than just being a "scorer", although he can really put the points up and is probably one of the top five shooters in the NBA. Miller was the only reason we were even in the game last night. You can't trivialize his importance. He's just as important to the Grizzlies as Terry is to the Mavericks, if not more. You're taking my comments out of context. Kind of like what the Grizzlies did to the Mavericks, right? You're counting the Miami game? Why? The Grizzlies played them when they had Shaq. When they have Shaq, they're the #1 team in the NBA. The Mavericks played the Shaq-less Heat, a team with about a 9-10 record. Great victory. And even while the Grizzlies might have lost big in that game, it was tied in the third quarter; the Grizzlies just collapsed in the end. The final score really does no justice to the type of game that was played. The Grizzlies haven't played San Antonio or Detroit, but the Mavericks haven't played Cleveland, a team who are very much on San Antonio and Detroit's level this season, even if they have a few more losses. Phoenix also took them to two overtimes, whereas Memphis blew them out. I really don't think the Mavericks had a harder schedule than the Grizzlies at all. The only thing that I'm looking at is the matchups between the two teams, and the series is split with the more impressive win going to Memphis. There was an ABA team in Memphis called the Pro's. I think George Karl even played for them. I don't understand why the Grizzlies would wear the jerseys though. Aside from playing in the same city, the two franchises are completely unrelated.</div> this guys said cleveland is on detriot's and san antonio's level...thats where my sense tells me he doesnt know the game all that well.
