<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">He may have traded him away in 2001, but Jerry Colangelo, now the head of USA Basketball, wants Jason Kidd to play for Uncle Sam in the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Kidd told writers that Colangelo contacted his agent about playing for Team USA and that he is considering it. His family has to go along, he added. Kidd, who won the gold in 2000, would have to make a three-year commitment, starting next summer. Kidd-led teams are 18-0 in international competition.</div>

I'd want him on my team too.

But who knows, 2008 is still a long way away.

2008? Kidd would be 35 by then...maybe they could take him as an assistant coach, lol.

As much as I'd like Kidd to play and succeed in the Olympics, I would favor much more for him to rest during the summers and be fresh during the Nets' regular seasons and playoffs.

I highly doubt that Kidd will, by 2008, :

    a) Still be a Net, so we shouldn't be worried about him participating
[IMG] Want to be involved in any basketball competition other than the NBA, like xpehbamxyu said
    c) Play well enough to even make the team
