HOUSTON - The Houston Rockets signed G/F Stephen Graham, General Manager Carroll Dawson announced today. Graham, who had been playing for the Sioux Falls Skyforce of the Continental Basketball Association, will join the team prior to Sunday's contest at Portland. Graham will wear jersey number 24.
Graham (6-6, 215 lbs.) played and started in eight games this season with the Skyforce and ranked second on the team in scoring average (21.0). Prior to his stint in the CBA Graham played two seasons at Oklahoma State University along with his twin brother Joey-a member of the Toronto Raptors.

Joey Graham is a much better player, but I don't get how this signing helps us except adding young players.

Joey Graham is on the Raptors though, so saying he's much better is a moot point. Using Glover's roster spot to sign Graham is a somewhat useless move. Graham can give us tough defense and some scoring at the wing spot, but it's unlikely he'll see the floor much, if at all. Could take Ryan Bowen's spot in the rotation if he works hard enough.

The Rockets on Saturday signed Stephen Graham, a 6-6, 220-pound guard/forward from Oklahoma State who had been playing for the Sioux Falls Skyforce of the Continental Basketball Association.

Graham, the twin brother of Toronto Raptors rookie Joey Graham, the 16th pick in last summer's draft, had been averaging 21 points and 5.8 rebounds in the CBA.

It's not a major move, but it's something. Dion Glover was never even activated. Maybe Stephen Graham can atleast get garbage minutes.

Well, he got off the bench tonight with about 30 seconds left, in a jersey with no name of the back of it, with the Rockets being on a road trip and whatnot. When I first saw him checking in, I thought I was looking at Joey Graham, but then I remembered we had just signed Stephen that day. He was fouled by the Blazers and made two free throws, then got a steal and went downcourt for an open dunk. He did show off some major hops, but it was too little to tell about his real game. Can he be a valid shooter in the NBA? Or will he be a attacker? His defense did look pretty solid in the limited time he played though.

I heard his jump shot (or lack thereof) was the main thing that held him from being drafted...by what I hear, he can jump out of the gym and can rebound like crazy...
