Bosh has much more potential than Artest. Plus, Artest is a competitor and wants to win. Imagine how annoying he would be in Toronto.

How would we have Artest without giving up at least 1 of those players?

    he will
that line up is horrible defensively (other than artest)
and where is your bench now that they are all traded away?

besides larry bird is an awesome GM, the best offer out there is probably stojakovic one for one (although stojakovic will kill pacers' chance for a championship for sure...oh well..make the best out of the worst)

well James is playing amazing right now (and can be the solution to pacer's PG problem--since Tinsley is an injury prone)
n Mo-Pete is not bad either

a more realisic deal would be smth like:
    James+Mo-Pete+Eric Williams+Dever's 1st round pick

    for artest+harrison

    or smth

you forgot they have the european MVP as their PG when tinsley is out
and anthony johnson is ok too

i don't think they need mike james
pacers is just a very deep team

i dont know if they'll be a deep team with Artest
    he's a beast defensively
and defence is what wins games

Mike James can be a solid backup for Indiana
and can give you about 10+ off the bench every night

I think that really we would have to give up Graham and Mo to get a sniff at Artest. If not Mo then someone whose salary is would even the gap. The Pacers get an Artest clone they can groom in Graham (yes I know they already have Granger) and some depth, experience, defence and outside scoring with Mo. Would Babcock do this....I actually don't think so even with the rewards Artest brings to the court, Babcock and Mitchell have been adament(sp) in bringing in only character guys who fit their "profile" and with all the extra curricular activities and mentalness Artest brings I doubt they would want him as part of the Raps even tho he brings so much to the table. He did just say that he wants to dominate the ball more and he isn't getting enough touches in Indy...how would that go over in Raptor land???

I have no interest in Ron Artest. I liked him a whole lot more when he was focused on basketball. Now I think he is too knee deep in other hobbies and his attitude is lousy

    No thanks

    Have fun.............

PS: The Barneys are on to something currently, we just need to be patient

I would just like one distraction free season, so no thanks.

We won't be competitive for a couple years at least and bringing Artest in would be a bad influence on the young guys. And if he demands a trade from a championship contender, then I can only imagine how he would react in this situation.

That team is still worse than Indiana right now. Artest won't mind going to a losing team, he just wants out of Indiana.

Yea i think Artest just wants out of Indy to get a fresh start after what happened last year because Indy has a good shot at the playoffs this year so thats the only thing i can think of for him wanting out.

i dont know abt getting artest
i just read on realgm.com that babs might be trading our picks
but would getting artest for mo-pete n a first round pick make sense?
because look at it--artest aldready said after two years he's going to go join the knicks
and its not like artest will come here and lead us to the playoffs..like cmon
    we're a future team..we should continue rebuilding

We'll see what Indy gets back in exchange for Artest. Now we will really see what an all-star is worth. Or better yet, what a real GM can get by trading an all-star...i bet it will be more than what we got for VC!

i was going to make this point...pacers seem to want artest out as much as he wants out...

in fact i saw an interview with jermaine oneil and he said if that's artest's wishes then he wishes him luck wherever he ends up...

now as for trades, look at what we got for VC last year, although on paper it looks like we got the shorter end of the straw, it's really the picks who can even that trade out...but at that time and place, we got shafted on the trade...

so now it wouldn't seem unlikely that indiana is in the same position...they have a good group of starters / a bench which is still not fully utilized, and they have potential in granger, so artest is expendable...and the fact he publicly said he wants a trade has diminished his value the same way that VC diminished his last year...

granted larry bird is no babcock and vice versa, but you could the comparisons of situations...
