John Salmons is going to have to step it up off the bench for the 76ers and lead by an example, because these past two wins have been won stricktly by the starting 5 and not the team itself. The 76ers really need a player who can come in and do the small things, while providing energy as well. Steven Hunter, Matt Barnes, Salmons, and Michael Bradely are all capable of doing so. It is a long season in the NBA, and the 76ers are going to need help from their bench once fatigue sets in.
Rebounding For the rest of the season, rebounding is going to be crticial for the 76ers almost every game. Kevin Garnett is probably the best in the league when it comes to this category. With that being said the 76ers are going to have to pay him a little more attention when the T-Wolves shots go up. If not Garnett may drop 20 points and 20 rebounds on your head. Also, anytime the 76ers do actually out rebound a team, they are an undeafeted 7-0.
Team work Minnesota has won five games in a row. They have also won 5 of the last 6 meetings between these teams. In order for the 76ers to beat them they must play as a team. Iverson has to look to get everybody involved, and Korver can't get to trigger happy because he has been up and down this year. Also, does anyone notice that when Dre is involved and gets his on offense, this team usally plays well? I'd also like to see Chris get back in the mix of things and have a big game, even though he has been productive. The 76ers are starting to learn their roles together and hopefully they can take their win streak to three games tonight.
Philly is starting to get back on track, hopefully these past couple of wins haven't just been the product of hot shooting and the 76ers come out shooting cold tonight. If they keep the Wolves from scoring easy inside buckets then they should win this game. At the same time, the 76ers need to work hard on offense because the Wolves don't have much quality depth in their frontcourt. I think the 76ers will take this one, might come down to the last few minutes.
This is gonna be a great game C-Webb vs Garnett and Korver Vs Wally both 3 point shooters.. I'm taking the Wolves by 7 sadly..
sixers are outrebounding the twolves by one at the half and its tied. there is almost no bench, and webber and dalembert arent really involved offensively. however igoudala has ten and they are playing well. sixers should win if they keep up the rebounding and contain kg.
Man B was right on the money with this one, we`re going to OT. Blew that 10 point lead with 2 to go though.
Wow what a game by C-Webb. HE WAS A MONSTER. He played great D on Garnett too. 27 and 20, along with 2 critical blocks and sensational D all game. Nice game by Shavlik too, and Iggy had 10, 6, and 5. Id still like him to get more offensive.
We are 8-0 when we outrebound our opponets. Nuff said. Webber was a complete animal, but what's most surprising about this is that he did it against KG. There was not one thing Webber did wrong in that game. Played OUTSTOUNDING defender on KG in the final seconds. First he blocked Garnett wide open dunk attempt, then he knocked the ball out of KG hands which left the Wolves with 0.04 secs left and that was basically the ball game. There is not really one single thing you can knock on C-Webb in this game, he was just amazing.
Good game, I like how Webber stepped it up in the clutch not only offensively but defense as well. You would have really expected KG to have the big 20 and 20 night, and for him to come threw in the clutch, but Webber really out played him tonight. My heart stopped when he drove for that dunk, and then landed kind of awkwardly, but he is fine. Also the 76ers have a way better record when they are balanced offensively. So far whenever AI and Webber carry most of the load, the 76ers tend to lose. With that being said it is important for Korver, and Iguodala to be consistent on the offensive side of the ball. 76ers out rebound the Wolves 39-51. Philly does not loose when they out rebound teams.
